Hello Joanne (Thanos), I Pre-order one of the AMC1280USB Deluxe and I just want to make sure that this unit is going to work with my setup I currently have 3 Pololu Jrk 12v12 USB Motor Controller with Feedback my motors will take 12Vdc or 24Vdc I have a potentiometer connected to the shaft of the motor.
Been said that I have some questions on the MC1280USB

    1) The six outputs Will it control a bi-directional DC brush motor?
    2) If Yes What is Voltage operating supply range capabilities?
    3) And What is the Peak output current?
    4) Does it have feedback inputs and what kind?
    5) This is important to me, Will it have a Software to Setup and Calibrate and tune the PID?
    6) and last what will be the tuning PID algorithm? there is 3 Algorithm: Parallel, Series and Ideal, see screenshot for references.

    Hi Milton,

This is just the motion controller. It creates the appropriate signals to control the motor drivers. You will still need drivers (hbridge) that provides the power to the motors. See here a great example (with older prototype of AMC1280USB v1.g ): http://6dof.my.primusnetz.de/thanos/

You can connect to the AMC1280USB any driver you like, from drivers for small 12v or 14v motors (even RC servos for model), up to VFD inverters for AC motors (220v).

It takes several type of sensors for position feedback with the most common analog sensors 0-5v and digital hall effect sensors 12-bit. You can use the potentiometers you already have on your platform.

All the setup and PID calibration can be done using the LCD user menu on the controller

Also there is autocalibration software available, that will be also updated soon with the additional sensors and output resolutions.
Have a look on the AMC1280USB support forum for it under software section.

    Thanks
    Thanos

    Hello Thanos,
I have been out of action for the past two months recovering from an eye surgery.
I know December is approaching for shipment -
My question: Will you be contacting me before you ship? You had asked me to remind you that I am running GS-1 VFD's, 3DOF, 230V, as you had to do some modification to my board.
Thanks so much. I am so anxious to get up and running again after ten months of sim not working.

    My kickstarter name; C.T. Higginbotham
    Tom

Kickstarter rewards started shipped out Nov 10. Trying to share time between finishing order, packaging and labeling and shipping. Shipping is usually done every Friday or Saturday in bulk. Notifications of shipments may go out a day or two after the order is shipped. Its not been easy especially for international shipping that I have to hand-write customs forms.

I apologize for the delays, there a few manufacturing errors and damaged pcb boards during shipping that had to be rectified. Most of the barebone controllers should be on their way by now. I'll shipping more as fast as I can.

    Thanks
    Thanos

Hi Tom, your controller with Sink outputs is to be prepared this weekend, and will be shipping out next Friday. It should be arriving to you 2-3 days after shipping (Much faster for US shipping).

Hi Guys just a shout out to say thanks to Thanos ,, Second AMC128USb kit arrived and looks great , I now have the original AMC128USB connected to and used as the controlor for my 6 DOF motion platform but using BFF software .. My New Barebone AMC128USB will be used to do the same but this Time Using SIMTOOLS which has far more flexibility simulation software wise ...both platforms have merits so between the two solutions a sweet spot will be achieved .. now my Xmas wish wuld be Encoder feedback as an option LOL ...but as Thanos mentioned , "watch this space he's working on it and a Userguide update " Cheers Crew

@cthiggin - Tom - You may want to remove your full name and address from this forum. Given the recent Equifax breaches in the US around data privacy, your address and full name can reveal more than where you live. ;)

    Just a heads up :)
