Just realised I opened a thread with questions without passing by the traditional presentation...here we go: My name's Guillaume, I live in (wonderful :) ) Denmark and have been following this forum for more than a year now. I have used my regular static setup ("racing" kind of seat + T500RS) for a couple of year and have finally decided to build my own motion rig, starting with a 2DOF seat mover.

Thanks to the community for its help and experiences sharing, I'm looking forward to sharing with you my project :)

Hello, I'm Gabriel Vuelma Romanzini, yes, a long name...

I have some skill with SolidWorks, similar to AutoCAD... If somebody need some drawing, I can help, just call me!
I'm planning about doing a 3-4DOF simulator, but i'm still learning about motion simulator, in the future, would be great to use X-simulator and get the forum help...

    Sorry for my english....
    Incredible forum :D

    Welcome @Gabriel Vuelma Romanzini.

Please don't apologize, your English is fine.

You will find the members here are exceedingly helpful and there is a wealth of DIY motion simulator information in the FAQ and member build sections.

It is very kind of you to offer to assist with SolidWorks modelling, I wish I had those sorts of skills.

    Good luck with your project.

Best to start your own thread for questions @Gabriel Vuelma Romanzini, but there are 2 possible answers, the first is that a sim is powered on and the second is that the wormdrive ratio is 50:1 or higher, which will support a persons weight even unpowered.

    Welcome @youngmi.

There is plenty to study here on all aspects of DIY motion simulation, with an active community that can help answer any questions you may have.

Have a good look through the FAQ and existing member build sections and when you are ready start your own thread for questions related to your own project.

    Hi All,

Been browsing this website/forum for the last few months now, and every single DIY motion simulator i've come across has inspired me to design and build (another) one of my own.

My name is David, I come from Central Scotland in the UK, and i'm a Mobile Service Engineer.

I am absolutely astounded at the lengths every single one of you has gone to, in order to recreate an experience which only 5-6 years ago would have cost tens of thousands of pounds.

Anywho, I'm at the research stage just now, should be starting the design stage in the next few weeks, and hoping to have a fully working, compact 6DOF racing sim within the next 12-18 months (I have serious work commitments in my current employment).

Looking forward to starting my own DIY thread with pictures and videos as I go, I prefer to work problems out and solve issues myself, so hopefully the project will reflect that and further inspire people to design their own unique sims (although recreating someone elses simulator is flattering and worthwhile too!!)

Keep up the great work, the forums are a treasure-trove of information.

    Nice to meet you all,

    Chalky
