Hi, I just discovered this forum while looking into adding 2DOF to my Obutto Revolution. Looking forward to finding out what kind of great information is here.

Hi guys. Time for me to introduce myself.
My name is Pascal, 31 years old and from the Netherlands.
I'm into simracing since Geoff Grammond's Grand Prix World Circuit but my first online experience was with rFactor. Since then i'm constantly looking for upgrades for my hobby like new wheels, shifters and so on and when i first the motion rig from Frex i knew that my ultimate goal was to get some motion in my rig.

I was always looking for plug and play kind of rigs but were way too expensive for me. For a while i tried to forget the idea of motion but the dream was too big so i started to look for other (DIY) ways to get it done. I soon found out that there were tons of information available and it was easy to lose myself in the overload of info. First i thought that it was not my cup of tea (way too complicated) but then i came across this website, created an account and started reading and kept reading and kept reading and........Finally i pulled the trigger and decided to start my own DIY project.

In my daily work i work with software and computers a lot but my weak spot is my knowledge about electronics. It is not that i'm a complete disaster on this subject but i will ask a lot of questions on this matter. (sorry in advance ;-) )

    Cheers

    Hi all

reading this forum since a few days already, found some suitable projects, but got more and more questions, if stuff i red here actually works for my case.
So it was time to register and join the community. :)

Had long ago a racing rig but it got boring, mainly the games not the racing :)

Beginning this year i got myself a oculus rift and found to my surprise Iracing, that injected me finally with the simracing virus :grin
My current rig though is still static, best part of it is the modded csw V1 and csp and of course the oculus.

Now it is time to work on at least a 2 dof with traction loss, maybe even preparation for lift as well.

    Cheers
    Lorien

    hi @all
i'm on the way to build a 2DOF Seat for driving. So my status at this project:
i'm waiting for the Monster Moto Shield (one is burned) and i have to build the main construction. The seat itself is working (without motion). So i have taken a few sources for the arduino and working with that. So hopefully i can get answers to questions i have building the rest (which will be a huge thing to do).
    so long

I 'm getting ready to build my first motion simulator with a platform 2dof and using the great Euro Truck Simulator 2 .
Looking on the net I came here and I hope to increase my knowledge
I write from Italy where the motion simulators are starting to become very popular .

A big hello to everyone and sorry if my English is not so perfect .

    Hello all.

Joined a while ago but now i'm ready to start looking into building a 2DOF VR sim. I currently play most racing sims, Elite Dangerous, DCS World, ETS2 and No Limits 2 Roller Coaster Sim but i would love to experience these with a motion rig with my Oculus Rift.

Does anyone know where i can find a list of hardware/software required for building a 2DOF sim ?

    Cheers,
    Adam

    @Welcome @AdamJ .
Start your questions by opening a thread here after reading many of the existing builds from other members. If you will build a (only) VR rig you have to go the 2DOF motion platform and not the 2DOF seat mover route. Good luck!

    Hello,

I joined recently and am glad to have found this site. The information is great and I have found several things that will help avoid issues as I move to building a platform. I am located in the US and gained interest in the motion aspect from the racing I do online. So far I have found it to be very similar to the equipment I have working in the place I work.

I look forward to growing here and learning more.

Hello everyone. I came across this site while researching info on building functional cockpits for flight sims. I would've been happy with just a functional cockpit until I stumbled upon these diy motion simulators, now a whole new can of worms have been opened and I won't be satisfied now without motion. I've caught the fever I suppose you could say. I also wanted to say thank you in advance for sharing ideas.

    Hi everybody :)

    Greetings here from Denmark

I have been simracing since 2005.

My rig is a homemade inspired of the vision racer vr3 but modified so it can do both gt and formula seating style.

I mostly play Assetto Corsa and Project Cars .

Im a electrician. So hopefully the electrical parts should be no problem :p

Until now I have made all the mexhanical parts. (Waiting to receive them from my autopainter.) The box woth elevtronics is okay. My network to my second pc is up and going. So my next project is going to make a test woth the wiper motors before everything ia being assembled..

Looking forward to see your other projects in the forum and get some futureplans for my rig : Grin

    Regards Simon

    Hi,

my name is Lars, I live in Germany near the Ruhrgebiet. I am quit new to the simulator scene and very happy to get so much information from these forum. THX to all of you sharing such a big amount of information.

So I few weeks ago I only want to build a playseat to have is more comfortable playing ED with Rift. After searching around the internet I am in mid of an 2dof sim.

Its very funny to test around and do metal work if never done before.

So actual I am following the instructions from RacingMat but I use the SMC3 code to have the support for the third motor to come for the traction loss.

So far so good, all is working good and the first movements are done.

Once again thx for the support.

    Cheers
    Lars

    Hi all!
first things first: I´m loving Flight Simulators since C64 times e.g. Gunship, Janes CS, Falcon, IL2, ...!:grin
Second: I think it´s a good thing to earn coins for posts, but i think the reward for the posts are way to less!
    Now to the subject:
I'm flying DCS World and i builded a SimPit with bank axis full 360 °.
I use x-sim so far, but i have some real problems. And now I´d like to try the x-simulator Plugin! :cheers
I create a new post for this subject, soon
