That it is great that you solved it @lujanie but please do start your own thread here for building related questions: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-building-q-a-faq.31/

Or here to create your own project thread: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

The welcome thread is not the place for it.

Hi, another new member from Sweden here.

I'm looking to build a 2DOF platform. So far I'm mostly gathering materials, lurking this forum and brushing up on my stick welding.

I'm going to start off with a small model like @insanegr 's to make sure I'll be able to handle the software side of things (I'm a mech engineer so that isn't my strong suit).

Eventually I hope to use the simulator for Dirt Rally and RBR in VR with motion cancellation. I'm optimistic about HTC's Vive for this but I'm in no rush so if I have to wait longer for a system that supports this, then so be it.

There's a lot of inspiring stuff on here. Thanks for all the great content guys!

Welcome @Pianocktail, you sound like you already have a pretty good plan on where your project is headed.

Please do start your own build thread and ask questions as they come up, it is a really active community here.

Hello I'm from Sweden, 38 years old. Many times it's been very close that I started to build a sim but It never happened. But now finally I have ordered a lot of stuff and will start to build it when everything has arrived :) I'm just waiting and planning now. The main parts are from Frex and some other nice stuff. Ok I mostly like rally and F1. I created a rally league in RBR called rbrchamp in the beginning when the game came out. We where like 10 people. Later we were over 100 people from all around the world. Later I let some others take over as I was so tired of it because it took so much time. Some year later I drove a season in a Swedish league and now I'm building my own stages from real Swedish stages. I lost a lot of contacts from Rbrchamp and if you where in that league it would be nice to talk again. Or if you just like rally :)

Hello, another Aussie member here. I'm only in the design stage for a fixed sim replicating a Formila Ford seating position with VR use. Ultimatly I will like to have some small but high fielelity motion involved including traction loss simulation. Just poking around at this stage to get an idea of dimensions.. I'd like to hide the sim in a piece of furniture (very narrow and low seat).

Seems as I'm here does anyone have any suggestion on how short a sideways displacment is worth going for with a traction loss system? 100mm in one direction? And then another 100mm allowed for vertical rotation when the top of the head is about 760mm high? I could push it out to 150mm each but after that the cabinet is getting too big and I'm ok missing the big movments to throw me about.

    Hi Guys,

My name is Sektor, I'm from Reunion Island (Fr).
I made my own playseat and I play with a T500RS and many tools from symprojects.
Now I'm making my own plugins in C# and Arduino for Project CARS, Euro Trucks Simulator 2, Assetto Corsa, etc.
I want to release a pluginfor WRC 4 and upgrade my playseat with a 2DOF.

I hope I'll find some help here.

    Thanks

Hi, my name is Bill, and I am new to the forums and lately been bit by the racing bug! Have rFactor1, and a few different Arduinos! My background is spread wide, from Aviation, electronics, machining, to programming. Real life I am an Airline pilot, and I want to get into 24 hours of Lemons racing. In the meantime, I think a racing setup would be very nice, with force feedback on the wheel, and actual instruments that are driven by the arduino!
