    Welcome @fortissimo

By all means post in your native language, but please also include an English translation via Google Translate. It saves other members time trying to work out who may need help and who is just posting a comment.

We have bi-lingual speakers from many different language group so if Google Translate really messes it up they can help clarify what was intended.

There is a specific section for native language based social interactions, though build related questions should be posted to the main threads: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/#international-social-chats-and-conversations.155

It would be great if you could start your own thread @djkc and post some pictures and a video of your rig, now that you have it running with SimTools. I and other members would be interested in seeing it.

I'm here to learn how to build a simulator. Preference is 4 axis. I have welding and fabrication capabilities a pair of large rams and capability four 2 more matched as well as a good computer with quad monitor capability and a Kirkey race seat and Schroth harness. Now to gather knowledge and shopping list.

    Welcome @Sean Castner.

You have come to the right place, there is a really active community here who freely give of their time and expertise.

You will find plenty to get you started in the FAQs, from design ideas and software to dimension of sims, PSUs, pots, motors, JRKs, Arduinos and Motor Monsters and more: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

You can go down either the JRK path or Arduino/Motor Monster electronics path, both have their own sections on the FAQs. JRKs cost more but are easier to set up and offer refined motion control, Arduinos are cheaper and more flexible but take a bit more to wire and configure.

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary:http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here:http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Good luck with your project.

    Hello,

I'm calling patrick and 40 years old french.
My projet is building 2DOF simulator as fly motion 360° to plane.
At this time, i have reading about X-sim and Simtools, and, i'm building my project with simtools.

My first step is building my electronical command (arduino and h-bridge) and connecting with simtools.

Hi people, my name is Rune and I'm a "crazy-project-hobby-build-addict"
Arhh that felt good, getting that off my chest :D

I've been googling around for the last couple of years, trying to figure out how to manage this build. So it's not a new crazy fantasy of mine.... it's an old crazy fantasy.
I work as an mechanical engineer, designing and building mechanical stuff for the medical industry.
So what I do have is: Material understanding, CAD capabilities, a workshop made in heaven, and a wicket creative side, all together meaning that I usually start a new project before the first one is finished.
That's where I imagine you guys comes in the picture, when I reach the wall, this seems like the place to get the right answers.
Spending the last couple of nights starring at numerous posts in here, each an everyone more outrageous (in a good way) than the last I've read, I decided that if you can do it - so can I.
My Problem have never been the actual build, but rather the interface, data output, dat input, coding, and so on. Then a couple of weeks ago, I brought home some Arduino stuff from work, and have tried different things, controlling stuff with other stuff. I think i get it :)
Right now, just to be different and a rebellion, I think I'm gonna go with hydraulics. I do have some experience in the field, and the safety issue is something I can surly comprehend. The positives of hydraulics is the insane force, with nearly no power consumption from the controller.
Then again, I'm not sure. I've ordered a bunch of servos to make a scale model as prove of concept.
I'm really exited to try the SimTools, and see what that's all about.
Best regards, I really enjoy all your crazy project shares, keep up the good work.
    Rune - Denmark

    Hello all!

I am contemplating building a motion simulator in the new year. Last year I finished building my OSW (Open Sim Wheel) and modifying my Fanatec F1 rim to use with it. Starting to get bored and now it feels like it is time to do motion.

Going to spend some of my holiday time reading so I can start planning and pricing things out to see where I am going.

Thanks to everyone for sharing all their knowledge!
