    Hi to all.
I'm matt from the uk. I'm new to this site but have been using xsim for a few years now and have built my 3 dof racing sim with custom dashboard and load cell brake pedal. ive been thinking of moving to sim tools for some time as ive read that its a better motion software to use.

I'm looking to build a motion seat that moves the seat ONLY given my current Sim set up. See pic. I call it Jim's 2.0 but is now becoming 3.0 with larger 24" screens (mounted in the correct position), 7 tactile transducers, 7" touch screens, new steering wheel, etc.

Hi all! Was doing some sim research and found this site. Was surprised to see all the mention of my Joyrider platform design! (been out of the loop awhile)

I'm seeing many great methods being developed here to motorize or otherwise power the platform using the great software available now.

From what I can find, it looks like the Joyrider is still the least expensive and simplest motion flight sim platform to build! (I know, shameless plug....) :roll

I had many enjoyable hours in the prototype Joyrider as a stand-alone passive motion platform running Xplane. I can imagine with it powered using "fly-by-wire" controls, not only can it more accurately represent the motion of the aircraft (stalls, etc.) but it can easily be equipped with yoke control for those flying "heavies" and the like. Great fun! :)

    Welcome @JoyRider.

Adaptations still get built and many members here come up with ingenuous ways of converting the joyrider basic design for motion.

You will find a very vibrant and active DIY motion sim community here, building simple to very complex motion simulators, powered by SimTools.

I'm Will from Tasmania. Been a computer nerd my whole life. Had to retire young, and found myself with plenty of time -but very limited money - on my hands. One day last year, while I was in the recycling shop attached to our local rubbish tip I discovered a Logitech Wingman Force Feedback racing wheel and pedals. I think I paid $10.00 for it. Took it home, and with a bit of hacking got it working with my PC. I tried a few racing games, and then bought DiRT 3 and fell in love with rally driving. Then I realised that if I wanted to get better race times I needed a racing cockpit. So I built my first one. I'm now on what I call the "Mark 6 cockpit" designed and built myself. I'm now at the point where I want to add some instrumentation, and start thinking about adding motion.

Hi. I come from creating a 2dof running other software, I adapatado everything to run with simtools but I realize you have to pay for plugins, in my country the exchange rate is very high , therefore the costs are many, a shame that I realized this , I will have to return to my previous soft ??? . Is there any way to collect the coins quickly.

Hey, guys. New member from Tempe, AZ. here. Will probably be reading and lurking for awhile getting ideas to possibly add motion to an Obutto Ozone rig I use for iRacing. Looks like there's a lot here to read and check out.

Hi, I'm a new member of the Community Jari from Finland. Experience is mainly on the right rally car driving and rally games. Now, however, I would like to build a simulator. I have already purchased supplies. I have not yet got beyond just the start.
