Hello everyone! Thanks for all the great information and free resources. This site has made it really easy for us to build and play in our first 2dof racing simulator. Just wanted to say thanks. Hopefully I will find the time to upload our build soon.

    Hi all.
As a new member, I just introduce myself. I am a college professor. A project to build a flight simulator model allow my students to understand different kinds of technology. So I come to your forum seems a nice community to learn more about achieving a 3DOF platform.
I hope to show here the project's progress.

Hiya, been toying with the idea of putting a rig together for sometime now and well I've hit my 40's and have some space and some (small amount!) of cash that needs investing!

Already purchased a Trak Racer, G920 and a GTX 980Ti to upgrade my PC with.

Software wise, I've got Project Cars, Asetto Corsa, GTR2, Dirt 3 (which I can't get to work!)

I've plugged in an old Sony surround sound and just ordered an Amp and 2 8ohm Puck transducers as a start into getting the 'feeling' of the race from more than just wheel feedback as things were starting to feel a little, well, flat.

Even before the transducers arrive, I'm already looking through the web for motion options as I know this will be next.

Had a look at a Prosimu 3DOF kit, but still a little expensive (cost of a family holiday) so will re-think over the next few months and maybe start on the DIY route, although my DIY experience usually ends up costing way more, or just doesn't come together!

Really looking forward to chatting with the experts here, maybe seeing a few DIY success stories along with a few DIY disaster stories to keep it real so that I don't feel too bad!

Starting sim racing with a deck chair and an ironing board set up, so anything is up from that!

    take care, speak soon

    Matt.

Sorry but I use Google translation because my English is very limited. Hello, I introduce myself, my name is Sylvain, I am 49, I live in METZ (FRANCE) and I join your community for advice on designing a driving simulator reduces DIY model will be driven by four electric cylinders with arduino card, motor shield and sim tools. I am currently studying in school for retraining of adult disabled worker recognized and this simulator will, with 3 colleagues, our project later this year. I would open a post in the appropriate section on our project. Thank you to read m'voir. See you soon.

Hello there people. My name is Andrew and I live in Sydney. I was put onto this site by @bsft as I saw one of his builds on facebook.
I have been trawling extensively over the last few weeks and there is a lot of info to go through for sure.
Im currently in the design phase of a 2 DOF seat mover and I have sketches I will scan and submit.
Im going down the JRK - Motion dynamics motors route. I have found the JRK info , I think and will go through that.
Looks simple enough as I have been dealing a bit with arduino, but to be honest, its over complicated the situation of a 2 DOF build.
JRKS seem simpler, so I will go them.
and yes @noorbeast , I am aware you have plenty of FAQ links to share, as from my reading of posts........
So I think I will be fine at this stage to navigate my way through things.
    Kindest Regards, Andrew.

    Welcome @Federicomdz, @rattler and @Sylvain57.

As @rattler suggests you will find plenty here to get you started.

@Federicomdz and @Sylvain57 you can post in your native language on the main threads but please do also include an English translation via Google Translate. It saves other members time trying to work out who may need help and who is just posting a comment.

We have bi-lingual speakers from many different language groups so if Google Translate really messes it up they can help clarify what was intended.

There is a specific section for native language based social interactions: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/#international-social-chats-and-conversations.155

@Federicomdz , it does not take long to collect coins without spamming everything. Al I did was submit a new thread build with some details, ask a few proper questions on some other threads, and read a LOT of threads (which gets 1 coin per read), and now I have over 250 coins without much hassle nor having to spend real money on a download package.
