    Hi @Malik10

As I suggested to you elsewhere the best place to get SketchUp advice would be the SketchUp forums: http://forums.sketchup.com/

Members here can help hooking SketchUp to SimTools or about building a real simulator.

Welcome @matrix0059 ! I just got my simulator running, and I can tell you it makes a huge difference! Getting a force feedback wheel was a big step forward, and made me wonder if it was worth it to make a full sim. But now that I'm actually experiencing the motion (my first time in any race sim with motion) it is absolutely awesome!

Be sure to start a build thread here if you start making your own!

    Hi Guys,

I am building a flight Sim for DCS that will be a small 6DOF base inside of a 2DOF Gimble that has 360 continuous rotation in pitch and roll.

Been researching it for a year now.

I am having trouble with DC Motor power vs Motor torque and how to make the selection. Does anyone know of a thread that addresses this?

@noorbeast your in Tasmania? I am in Melbourne. Would you be interested in chatting at some point.

    Welcome @GusBiz.

You have come to the right place, there is a really active community here who freely give of their time and expertise.

You will find plenty to get you started in the FAQs: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

In particular have a look at working out basic speeds and forces: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/calculating-basic-linear-speed-and-forces.89/

There are some links in the FAQs for building a working model and given the complexity and costs of what you plan you may want to consider doing that before getting in too deep.

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here, post a description and picture of what you want to build, even if it is a hand drawing: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

I am happy to chat, but don't forget there are a bunch of really helpful members and some like @SeatTime and @SilentChill have 6DOF projects.

Good luck with your ambitious project.

Then I will introduce myself sometimes. My name is Christian and I am 45. Since my Father vending machine is, I grew up with arcade machines. Therefore my Racer looks a little different. I hope that this translation is somewhat understandable since they with Google was created.

@nasrollah the best thing to do is to read the threads on the forums and then develop an idea of what you want (based on space, budget, etc). Create some type of plan and then create a build thread here on the forums to ask questions.

Good luck with your build, I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Parts here in South Africa are not available or very expensive to import so any ideas are properly studied and appreciated. Still don't know how I am going to afford the coins to purchase Simtools:(:(

    Hi @ll,

my Name is Michael, i´m from Germany and 35 years old.
I came across this forum and the whole 6dof subject after a long gaming night in Elite Dangerous. My friend posted a video of some motion sims and we discovered there are X-Sim plugins for Elite, too. Few videos later i discovered SilentChills excellent work and since then i´m sold to the idea of having my own 6dof motion simulator. I read SilentChills build thread and several other success stories and decided to start sourcing components for my own project and here i am. Comes the time when you need help from friends with knowledge, i hope to find friends here who can help me out now and then ;-)

    My Background
Currently, i have 1,8 Children as my second child is still in the making and thats also my excuse for only making small steps on my projects (haha). Well, first comes family i guess.

For the last 10+ years i worked as a turner and miller on various CNC-machines, have access to a wide field of different manufacturing tools. I have a little experience in DIY, basic understanding of Electronics but am happy to learn new things. 3D CAD is done with Inventor Professional 2011 an i have a Rigidbot 3d Printer in my basement.

With this Printer i collect the first XP on Electronics DIY since i had to mod it with a 3rd party Mainboard and PSU. The original died on Power up :-D.

Any questions feel free to ask and please turn a blind eye on my english skills. Working on that aswell :)

    cheers
    Michael
