    Hi all,

Came across this forum. Got bitten by the online racing bug after a long lay off. Now I've decided to do a bit of DIY. Already modded my brake pedal and added a load cell but now I wan to do a wheel mod.

I'm just looking for an Arduino based dash to place on my T500 wheel that only shows Gear,Revs and shift lights. Looking through the forums now and hopefully find some detailed instructions as I'm no expert.

    Welcome @Lupus.

A model is a good idea as a 6DOF is a somewhat complex and potentially costly project. Start your research by reviewing existing models: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/build-a-working-model-to-test-your-design-ideas.216/

Hi Everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. Been sim racing for yeara and always eyed making a motion platform. Still undecided on what style and setup I wanna use, but i wanted to say hello. :) I will no doubt documet my build as it happens, and appreciate the university level library of information documented by all the users. Awesome information.

    Welcome @Musashi.

If you have been lurking then I suspect you have been reviewing existing member builds, and that is a great way to work out your own project goals: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here and just kick around ideas, community members will let you know what is and is not likely to work and can also be helpful in selecting hardware: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Good luck with your project.

Any motion sim project can seem daunting at first, but particularly a 6DOF.

Having your own project thread lets you collect your ideas and you can ask community members for input and clarifications, and keep all of the relevant information in your own thread.

Thanks @noorbeast I have indeed been reading.... like banshee. Honestly, seems like all the answers and instructions are all here, but having a little help and people to question on specific problems is WAY helpful. Honestly, I am a bit stunned at not only the level of quality of the software, but the generosity of the members to help. I'm not smart on the motion sim part, but I have a few things on the DIY front I plan to share that may help out a bit, arduino, motor vibration mount, ect. Anyway, thank you... and i look forward to one day ordering parts and making it real. SO many options... SO little MONEY :)

Hi to everyone - Just introducing myself to the community

Currently building a 2DOF simulator to be used with Cliffs of Dover and Oculus Rift - Experimenting with motors at the moment and generally how things string together - Will post some pictures before I set fire to stuff hopefully :)

I am trying to post a lesson or tutorial, but i keep getting an error message. Is it because i still havent posted a grand total of 5 posts? It says this. "Your content can not be submitted. This is likely because your content is spam-like or contains inappropriate elements. Please change your content or try again later. If you still have problems, please contact an administrator." Thanks.
