Hi, I'm new to racing sims, I race in the real world but would like to develop my own sim to replicate as close as possible the feel of driving a real car.

    Hi guys,

I'm Sharmad Navelker, a new member from Bangalore, India. I've bought an Oculus and Logitech G29 and I'm looking to build a 6 DoF system to go with it. My knowledge in this field is very limited. I know electrical and coding basics. I'm quick to pick up on things.

I've just gotten into racing simulation and would love to learn how to build such systems. I searched a lot online but all the systems were expensive and I finally found this wonderful site. Hoping to learn a lot from you guys and hope that I'll be able to share some ideas with you. :)

    Welcome @Sharmad Navelker.

A 6DOF is a challenging first project. We have a 6DOF FAQ section, which would be a good place to review existing member projects: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/6dof.22/category

There are many other useful FAQ sections: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project threads here and ask your questions on your own thread, that way all pertinent information is in the same place: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Good luck with your 6DOF project.

@noorbeast thanks for the help :).

I'll probably start with a 2 DoF project, then a 3 DoF before moving onto a 6 DoF one. :D

That is likely a sound plan and you will learn a lot on the way, plus if you choose your equipment with that plan in mind you can just recycle it.

First start a new thread of your own, as was already suggested, and explain what your project is. That way you will easily earn some coins and members can decide if they want to donate coins for your project.

This is how the coin system works: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/coins-and-how-to-download-plugins.2/

Welcome @Jamie C, you will find plenty of Aussie members here.

There is a specific section for commercial interests, so create your own project there: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/commercial-simulators-and-peripherie.52/

SimTools 2.0 is just at the tail end of closed Beta testing and will soon have wider testing as a release candidate, when the developer @yobuddy is confident all the Beta bugs/enhancements have been addressed. SimTools 2.0 has a new license framework, including provisions for commercial entertainment use as you have in mind: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/simtools-2-0-question-and-answer.8175/#post-99841

hi there and greetz from austria.
    amazing what you guys do

my name is timon. i´m from vienna where i run VR-Cafe (www.vrei.at) which also offers VR-Simracing to guests.
we use simxperience stage1 with sx4000 for the rigs.

i´m here because we would love to offer nolimits2 rollercoaster rides here as well.
as simxperience still does not support this title i´d like to try if i can get it to run with simtools.

does a gold membership include a commercial licence?
if so we´d like to obtain one right away

all the best to you guys
