    Evening All,

Just wanted to introduce myself - I'm from Norwich, England. Shortly I'll be cutting my motion teeth building a ProSimU T1000 3DOF Platform. I've been a Racing Gamer for a while, I say gamer rather than Similation fan as I'm not a good driver but enjoy it anyway. I started with wheel stands, then a full cockpit frame but with the advent of VR, a motion experience seems like the final frontier :)

    Regards,

    Robert

    Hello everybody :)

I'm from South Africa, starting with my first motion sim. a 2DOF...

Got a little over excited and started building before getting all the parts, so have had to make some changes due to very limited local parts availability :(

Build is currently based on an Arduino UNO with Moto Monster shield and wiper motors. Which firmware would be the best to use?

Hope to do my own project thread soon.

    Welcome @WiZard.

You have come to the right place, there is a really active community here who freely give of their time and expertise.

You will find plenty to get you started in the FAQs, from design software, dimension of sims, to PSUs, pots, motors, JRKs, Arduinos and Motor Monsters and more: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

You have a choice when it comes to Arduino code: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/arduino-code-for-use-with-various-hardware-and-simtools.31/

But I would suggest you try the SMC3 code first, as it has a handy Windows graphical configuration tool: http://www.xsimulator.net/community...3dof-motor-driver-and-windows-utilities.4957/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Hello all. Ive been sim racing off and on for over 20 years but have only just built up a dedicated 8020 rig.

Up until a few days ago my biggest ambition as to movement in sims was vibration but after looking at what you guys are making and at what cost I think a 2dof is more than possible at an affordable price at some point.

Im a CNC programmer so can get some parts made quite easily if I can get time on a machine.

Im now trying to red s much s possible to work out which motors would be best to use.

Welcome @principiamacb, DIY motion is more affordable than most people think.

Have a look at existing member builds, that may help you refine your own project ideas, what motors you need depends somewhat on what design you use: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

You will find the FAQ section covers many detailed build related topics: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

We have a glossary for all those acronyms we tend to use, which will help you decipher some descriptions: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

Hi, I'm from Portugal, and I came here trying to understand how to build a 2Dof simulator. I love challenges, but first, I have to read a lot to understand everything, and as I'm reading, I see that it is not easy, but not impossible at all for me to build my own 2dof simulator.
    Cheers to everyone!!

Hi all, I'm from South Korea and have a 7 AXIS motion simulator who manufactured by R-Craft Korea company.
I have using a simtools 1.3 and I'm still waiting for official release a ver 2.0 for activate all axis because of limited axis support on 1.3
Just wondering that there's any way to get a permission for 2.0 beta test for new member?
And I have upgraded my account to premium access but my balance has negative now.
Premium access is able to using download tab no limit as I know.
Should I purchase a coin for make it to be plus?

    Welcome @Jeongkyu Wi.

The coin system is explained here: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/coins-and-how-to-download-plugins.2/

You earn coins for participation on the forum, but the Gold Supporter package lets you access plugins without needing forum coins.

Beta access has been for the purpose of testing SimTools 2.0, which is nearing its end, and it has been up to the developer @yobuddy to determine what needs testing on what mix of simulators.

SimTools 1.3 is not licensed for commercial simulator use, but SimTools 2.0 will have commercial licensing: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/simtools-2-0-question-and-answer.8175/#post-99842

    Thanks for informed me.
You mean, if I use a simtools with purchased simulator for private purpose, it's not allowed, it's only for DIY rigs, right?
(For make sure, I'm not a manufacturer or supplier)
And you shows me a pricing table of 2.0 and can I access to the purchase page now?

I mean SimTools 1.3 can't be used for commercial purposes, which means manufacturers promoting and benefiting from SimTools 1.3 use, while SimTools 2.0 can accommodate that.

Can I clarify if R-Craft makes any public statements about SimTools?

    Hi Guys,

New user from The Netherlands here :)

Finally decided to convert my frex system to use with xsimulator.

Not sure if i can also post this here (i have also posted this in the Frex conversion thread) but i have followed the step by step instructions and i can move the actuators manually with my mouse using the axis testing sliders but i don't get any game data. Ive read through the forum, tried several options and settings but still no luck.

    I need your help ;)

    Thanks,

    Robert
