    Hello
First of all, to thank the administrator, members, and everyone in general, because without you, this would not be possible, they make people happy and that is priceless.
I am Cuban, I live in Barcelona, Spain and although I do not have much time to devote to the construction of the simulator, I will do my best to also enjoy as much as many of my simulator, I am very happy to be here. Many thanks
    I feel my bad English

Just here to say hello after reading all of silent chills 6dof project in one evening, it was a late night! Unfortunately for my Mrs i've now got my eyes set on building my own so wish me luck!. I have currently sourced motors that seem up for the job (epas motor from a corsa c) and i am going down the monster moto/arduino route (hopefully ill have better luck than silent chill had with his).

    Regards Jeran

Hi from Canada. I've been researching for about a month and finally started my project thread over the weekend. I'm a big F1 fan and I've enjoyed video game/sim racing since growing up with the Gran Turismo series on Playstation. Started with a various Logitech wheels, and just recently sold my G27 to get a T300RS Alcantara edition. After my project is done, I'm hoping to get into VR and build a OSW in 2019. Really enjoying the community here and grateful for such a wonderful resource.

    Hello everyone.

My name is Andrew and I have been a somewhat longtime lurker here on the forums. I am 22 and in my last semester of university with a major in computer and electrical engineering. For quite some time, I've considered buying a pre-built motion sim but having seen all the posts here on this forum, I've been motivated to give it my best shot and go the DIY route. This will be a completely new and fun learning experience that I hope to complete to share to you all as well as my friends!

    Hello everybody!
For a long time i´m thinking about a motion simulator because i love driving racingsims.
Since a few days i read about how to build one yourself and i decided to do so.
The mechanical part should be no problem because i´ve learned to build precision mechanics
and when i have a plan i can build the electronik things too. So i have already done this :)
But i can´t really write computer programms. I can programm CNC machines and in the 80´s
i could programm a little bit of basic but thats it. So i hope i can get a little help here with that stuff.
It is really great what you are doing here and i hope i could help too but my best skills are the
    mechanical things :D
I have an idea how to build my sim but im not completly fine with it.
At first i want to get the software handled and then i will build my seatmover/plattform.
Dont want to buy materials when i cant get the software handled.
Okay i already bought an arduino and motor shield to try it with small dc motors ;)
When i start to build i will make a project thread.

    Have fun

    Hi everybody,

I'm Jens (36) from Switzerland and I'm happy to join this great community with all your experience around motion sim. I had my HTC Vive for some time till I realized how much more fun it makes to do racing sims in VR. Then I read about the possibilty to use motion rig systems to increase the immersion and reduce motions sickness (it really helped in my case). So I spent some nights reading through this forum and all the different topics that can and need to be considered. I studied systems engineering some years ago so I have some background for electronics, mechanics and software.

Finally due to time and space limitations I decided to get a dofreality kit as it was easier than to gather all the parts and I really love it. As expected you can spend hours in optimizing and tweaking but man what have I missed back in the times where there was no VR or motion in racing sims.... I plan to add vibe functionality later on and we will see what the future brings. Maybe some day I will start my own DIY project going for 6DOF - those builds you have there are just unbelievable.

Have a nice day and a lot of fun with what you're doing!

Hi all, I thought it would be nice to introduce myself, as I stumbled upon this forum as I was looking for a specific second hand part on google which brought me to this forum. I am from the Netherlands and I enjoy the DCS simulator modules (especially the KA-50 and planning to focus on the F18 coming out soon) and I have been tinkering around with my CNC mill to produce my own full force feedback joystick with beep-trim, force-release trim and follow-up trim.

I am currently improving my CNC mill to increase production speeds of parts and therefore still play with the Thrustmaster Warthog and Oculus Rift for now.

I have never seen this forum before, but surely once things have come together more(I am currently building and designing the clutch for force trim release) I will upload a few bits and bobs. I have finished the programming of several arduinos to communicate and extract information from DCS to translate speed and air density into control forces (particularly for fixed wing aircraft) and every device (cyclic/stick, throttle/collective and pedals) with it's own arduino to communicate with a master Arduino.

My goal is to get the most realistic set and feel as possible to improve the flight experience but also to keep costs affordable (hence designing clutch myself instead of buying expensive elektro-magnetic clutches).

I am lucky to work in the aviation industry so I feel priviliged to be able to do a lot of research how things work in the ' real world' .

Looking forward to hear your feedback in the future!

    Hello All,
My name is Chewwie2 (Greg) and live in Calgary A.B. Canada. I recently joined the community and have started on a build. At the mini prototype stage now.
I have designed and built a small unit for testing purposes. So far I have been somewhat successful, now I am at the point where my code skills (which are nearly nil) are useless.
My design is one of 3 motors. Does anyone have any idea how or if I can use micro servos with Arduino and Sim Tools to tune and view my mini rig in full motion? I would greatly appreciate any help, please and thanks.
Also thanks to everyone for the great posts.

    Peace, Chewwie2.
