Been lurking here on and off for a while but I don't think I've ever introduced myself...

I'm Skerper; I live in Japan and play iRacing.

Currently I have a static rig with a wind sim and 8 seat-side Dayton bass shakers (as in, I sit directly on them).

I have a Sim Lab P1-X on order, which I intend to add motion to with a PT-Actuator 3dof kit.

    Welcome @IgorDOFRealH2.

You have come to the right place, there is a really active community here who freely give of their time and expertise.

There is a specific DSOFreality thread in the Commercial section: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/low-cost-2dof-3dof-motion-simulator-dof-reality.8570/

The is also a specific section for Pro SimTools licensees: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/simtools-pro-entertainment-version.176/

    Hey guys.

My name is João and I'm new to the site.

I'm a teacher and I'll be building a 2 dof simulator seat with my students.
I'll try to post progress pictures.

In the mean time, if anyone has some beginners tips please let me know. I'm in the process of gathering information.

Is there anyone here in the same situation. By that I mean, working with students?

    Thanks.

Thanks @noorbeast, I've started a project thread - welded the frame, waiting for motors and power supplier to arrive. Cheers

    Hi guys,

I have just registered after doing a bit of research and just pulling the trigger on an order of Prosimu T1000 3DOF; I was seriously considering DOF Reality H6 rig, but concluded that Prosimu is overall a better product. Now awaiting delivery & I`ll be looking to order Simtools - I guess I need just the basic DIY licence? More research for me to do in the coming days. I'm planning to use T1000 with T300RS / TH8A / T3PA Pro and iRacing. I'm based in Birmingham, UK.

    Cheers,
    Victor

    Hi,

I'm Rich, from the UK, in London/near London depending on day of the week.

A bit about me, I've grown up on a farm so have been building things since I could walk, have a mid engined RWD classic mini I built from nothing. Very comfortable to build mechanical things and also handy with a soldering iron on basic stuff, the smaller little fiddly bits not so much. Due to being half the time on a farm I have a pretty extensive workshop so should make building this not too hard. Famous last words. Ha

Studied Mechanical Engineering and was then building and CNCing (full 5 axis programming) composite parts, mainly carbon. The programming side of things with the sim will be my weakest area but have recently been learning to program PIC chips, not helpful here unfortunately.

Looking to build a 6DOF sim based off of FlyPT design. Happy with building the thing, it's more then getting it to talk to the PC correctly which I haven't quite yet got my head around how it all interfaces with each to actually move.

Will start a build log soon in the forums as I've already started ordering parts to build the actuators. Hopefully this will go well.

    Welcome @Richh999.

Sounds like you have a pretty good skill set for motion sim building.

A 6DOF is not beyond a newcomer, but it is a substantial project and not one top dive into too quickly. Spend plenty of time researching, planning and asking sensible questions, long Before you start ordering parts.

    Thanks,

I've spent the last 2 weeks reading lots of threads on 6DOF sims. They do seem like it is possible to build as long as it is properly planned, although Silentchill seemed to defy this logic successfully however not quite wanting to go through the pain he has so looking forward to trying to build something.

I thought I should add that this will mainly be used for flying, I hold a PPL(H) so looking forward to getting some heli simming done. I'll be adding VR although not sure what headset to go with, I want decent quality but also usable so will have to read up some threads on motion track for these too and which are best, there are a couple of new ones so might wait till I pull the trigger on one of those too.

Thanks for welcoming and will do lots of searching before asking any new questions.

    Hi All
Simply blown away with the information on this site. i now have actuators, all electronics and am starting on temporary base frames and top frame for testing for a 6DOF system. Cant wait.
