Hi. I'm Dani from spain and now I'm a proud owner of YAW VR motion simulator. I purchased simtools and paid for one year plugin acces and started to mess with DCS, X-Plane and Elite Dangerous.
I made two videos showing my first tests with DCS Yaw VR and HTC Vive VR headset if someone is interested.

    Hey all,
Commercial guy here. We've been building custom force feedback hardware for sim applications for quite a few years now and have done some work a few larger 6DOF platforms (Moog, Bosch, Parker Hannifin). Currently putting together a scale model of a device based on some magnetic actuator tech that we think will hit a few pain points we've seen others have in the past. We've found some good insight here in the past and hope to post some progress pics/get suggestions as we work away on this little project!

I'll be sure we keep progress pics in the commercial section.

    G'day Gentlemen

I've been looking around this site in awe & with some trepidation, as I am keen to build a 6DoF platform but not sure where to start, still working out what I need to know and most importantly learning what I didn't know I needed to know.... :blush

I'm trying to document my process so that I might answer some of the more 'dumb' questions for those that might follow me, hopefully removing some strain from the moderators.

I'm a former helicopter pilot (medically retired) and now can only fly sims, so I'd like to increase the immersion with a motion platform to compliment the VR. Im obviously on a pension, so dont really have the cash to throw around learning from my own mistakes and hope to lean on the more knowledgable here to limit my R&D cash burn

Im not an engineer, nor overly electronically savvy, but I have some mates locally that can give me guidance too, I've spent the last 25 years in IT though, I have a very steep learning curve ahead of me, but I hope to be able to achieve my goal.

I dont need latest greatest bleeding edge.... I simply want to build something that will hold/carry my barge arse and toss it about a bit, scaled with some longevity.

    Welcome @Oz_gadget.

A 6DOF is an ambitious first project, so it pays to do plenty of research before diving in, including deciding between DIY or commercial actuators.

Do go through existing member projects for specific ideas or inspiration and start with the newest builds, as members have made a lot of innovative progress with 6DOF rigs: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Hello World.
We are slowly advancing toward a 3DOF Simulator. If this ever materializes next exit would be 6DOF. Right now we try to get a rc servo platform to work with AMC Kickstarter Ed and Pololu. We dont have a clue and millions of questions. Thanks to Thanos the great, who really invests a lot of his limited energy into his controllers and the noobs that are messing with them - like us...
    Regards
    Stefan

id like to say thanks for this ive been thinking about this project for a long time.

its built and the motion works when i click the buttons on the actuators i get the desired affect ....but i have questions on how to send the data (data;))and control these "contacts"
im thinking a relay? but idk.
i have NOT purchased electronics .. hope you all can help
    thx for the add,

    Hi!

After discovering the Xsimulator forums I gotten new motivation to build by 2DOF rig. Managed yesterday to dig out my Motion dynamics motors I ordered last time I got the idea of building a 2DOF simulator, proved to be almost 7 years ago on the day I ordered them... Anyways now I am highly motivated, started sourcing parts again and also managed to get a friend at work to join the project.

Some short info about me, I am living in Gothenburg, Sweden and working as an electronic engineer in the automotive industry for some 10 years, currently developing hybrid systems. Interested in race cars and own more cars than I have space for. My fun cars are; BMW e36 325i (race car), Nissan Skyline R34 GTT (summer daily) and Nissan Skyline R32 GTR (enthusiast). Occasionally helping out a friend with 8 hours endurance racing on the weekends, all from repairs to refuelling.

Looking forward to many interesting and rewarding discussions with you guys!

    /Tomas Gustafsson

I Don't know how to cretae a post.
I've bought the T1000 3Dof, but when I try to test the axis, it doesn't work….it says: one of your interface request GameEngine to be restarted. I do it, but it's the same message….
I Don't know also how to do to add a game.

    Tks for for help.
