hello and thank you for the welcome.
I have already ordered the 2 motors and 2 potentiometers plus the card to control the motors. As soon as I have the material I open my discussion to put photos and work progress.

    Hello all!

Im Terje from Norway, I have know about this site for years, and have read a bit of the posts now and then. As I use more time on the SimRacing hobby, I figured out I might as well jump in the deep end, and build myself a motion platform. Also just turned 40, so I supposedly have to have some kind of life crises. And since I can’t afford a Porsche, and I know I would kill myself on a motorcycle so; here I am.

I am torn about what kind of system I want to build. I really like the new 6dof that’s Silent Chill have made. Or maybe I go for a 3dof chaise setup, with traction loss. I don’t have the biggest budget, but not the smallest either.

I know nothing about electric (i had physics at school so I know that bit), so I have to learn that. I can’t solder, so have to learn that, I know a bit coding, but not much, so have to learn about that, and so on. So I basically have to learn everything. Happily I’m a really keen learner. LOVE to learn new things.

Do I have confidence that I will make a working motion platform? No, but willing to give it a really hard try!

Hi there, my name is Michael. I'm passionate about additive manufacturing and CNC machining, I also have good skills in electronics. I was scouring the internet to find some info about how to build flying and driving simulators and I came through this forum. Thanks to the useful posts and resources shared, I learnt a lot of new things here, so thank you all for sharing your knowledge. I'm planning to build a motion simulators and share my experience with all of you (asking tons of questions!), hoping it might help further enthusiasts.

PS. I tried to open the world map to post my location but the link leads to a 404 page.

    Best, Michael

Hello everyone, My name is Francis, I am French and I don't speak English very well, but I take my time ^^.

I signed up because I plan to make a flight simulator.

I know how to do some electronics, electricity, mechanics, but I don't have your experience. I will look at the forum, and if I do not find an answer, I will come to ask you questions.

    I also have a 3D printer to make a small-scale prototype.

Thanks for the forum and see you soon.

    Hello,
I've been checking out this site on and off for years. Always wanted to build a sim but never had the time, money, or space or combination of. I really don't have the space right now. But' figured, I would build a working test model, using all the actual parts minus the frame and the motors.
Once i have all that working, ill see about getting it as compact as i can.

Far as my ability to build it, It will be a learning experience, but that's good since i Like learning new things. I'm pretty mechanical, been fabricating and working on cars since i was like 15, been repairing electronics well before that ( my first portable CD player, I fixed from broken ones i got from friends ) Self taught soldering, learned how to weld and braze in high school and a few lessons from actual welders. Plus I am in IT currently. So.....
    Hopefully it goes well.
Any advice when i start putting this thing together will be appreciated!
