    Hi everyone,
I'm Pratheek from India. I work as a product/industrial designer professionally. I stumbled upon xsimulator when I was looking around for information about sims and DIY options for that. It was sometime ago that I found out that there was a huge community for DIY sims and that diy sims could be actually built. From then onwards I was in the search for information regarding what could be done to make a racing sim on my own since I cannot afford a good sim and more importantly I wanted to do it on my own.

This is perhaps one of my first time being in a forum/community online, please do excuse me if I make a mistake in the early days.

My idea is to build a small affordable ffb racing sim using arduino leonardo as I'd seen in a few videos. I'd read a few posts on this site too that helped me in the process. As such I wanted to be a part of this community and learn from others, also enlist the help of more experienced members. Hope I could also help others along the process.

    Regards,
    Pratheek.

    Hi guys.
Welcome from Ireland. Recently retired and during lockdown got back into flight sims. Mainly Dcs and Il2 all in VR. Things have certainly moved on since flying on a 14 inch monitor. I have built a static rig with a few button boxes and rotary encoders. Very proud of my working ejection set handle lol. All using arduino’s. Electronics and coding is all a bit of a mystery to me but your never to old to learn. I thought a good next step would be a g seat using servos and bladders. Have already read up a huge amount of info from the forum so thanks for that. Have ordered a few bits and pieces to start on the proof of concept. Worked my whole life in the aircraft industry and have good practical skills and a good workshop.
Hope I am posting this in the correct place as I have never used a forum before. Thanks guys.

Hello, I have been wanting to do this project for a long time to share with my son.
I am 54 years old and I am a native of Cartagena (Spain), although I live in Mora d'Ebre.
My project is based on another by SCK GAMING, which explains step by step its construction with the necessary materials, based on Arduino and two 24V 250W 75 RPM motors, and that is why in the end I have decided to carry it out since I am quite astute and I am not afraid of new projects.
I want to congratulate you on this wonderful page that attracts all of us who are interested in iracing.

Hello guys this my third thread already, shame on me.
My name is Michali but you can call me Mike.
I am almost 40 years old, and live in Germany. Since 2010 I would like to build a motion simulator. So I have opened a new building thread: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...m-is-comming-true-after-12-years.16778/unread

2010 I have build a sim rig from aluminum prophiles and since than I use it with my good old driving force gt. The only update is, that I have mounted under the simrig wheels to transportating from sleeping room to the living room. But the motion virus infected me again, and cause that I can not get a dedicated home cinema, want to build at least the second dream of my life. A 3dof with traction loss and inverted surge motion simulator.

    that’s me.

I have already enjoy following your build thread, there is plenty to consider before leaping in too deep, so take your time, dig into the FAQs, and when necessary ask questions on your build thread.

    Good luck with your project.

Hello my name is Fred and I am new on this forum.

i started looking into building a motion simulater years ago beeing active at xsimulator forum. I had fun building electronics, but the project stalled before I managed to get it working. Now I got inspired by several youtube-videos with builders using Arduino and IBT-2 with 12v motors. I want to do it cheap using some vipermotors I purchased at my first try. I also want to build a rig that pivot close to center of gravity, so that I dont need stronger motors than my vipermotors. The old joyrider-rig might be an option.

So that is me and my plan. The rig will be used for some sim-racing, but I also want to have it as an entertainment for som kids using a rollercoaster game or similar .-)

My apologies if my English is not perfect, I am from Norway :)

    Regards Fred

    Welcome @Fred Johan Østli.

Arduino and IBT-2 with 12v motors are a popular combination, with many using SMC3 for the Arduino.

    Hi there.
    Mike from Canada here.
As life has the way of getting away on us at times, it’s finally time for me to start doing some of the things I love and enjoy. I grew up with big dreams of being involved in Motorsports and fabrication side of things in the sports. Well, life happened and living in western Canada, there was so little chance to get involved in my passions. Never imagined how real simulators, and availability to us family folk, would ever become the reality of enjoying these sports via racing SIM’s. I recently just got an MSI Aegis Gaming PC and a Logitech wheel and pedal package to get started. In searching for practical racing sims here in Canada, which is difficult and unfortunately overpriced, I came across this site, it’s fantastic I hope to learn a tremendous amount and build my own motion sim in the near future. Thanks for having me in the club

    Hello group,
I just decided that I want to build a racing sim. I think it's gonna be a 2 doa, or a 3 or heck maybe even a 4 lol. I am looking at builds, finding out the costs, and seeing what build is right for me. I want it to be universal, flight, racing and who knows what else. Thanks for all you guys post. Can't wait to start. O I am located in central California near Bakersfield, if anyone local hit me up.
