Hi everyone New Member ! Looking to build a 6DOF motion platform that's self leveling - take the input of an IMU and have the motion platform auto level. Will begin searching the projects section. If you have links, I'll take em'!

    Welcome @MBak.

Any 6DOF is an ambitious first project. So doing some research before getting in any deeper is time well spent.

Bounce your plans and shopping list off members before jumping down what can be an expensive rabbit hole, if you get it wrong.

Use the Enhanced Google Search on the Recent page to find the latest member 6DOF projects, as there have been many refinements to how members build 6DOF rigs.

You will also find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs, including a section on 6DOF rigs: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Good luck with your project.

Hi, new member also. But first started to build, now I see there is a new member section ;)
Build out a 2Dof based on a Playseat trophy seat, with rumble motors and a loadcell.
Addicted on Simracing for years now, mostly playing Assetto Corsa(Competitione) and Rfactor2.
Racing with a Quest 2 VR headset and based in the Netherlands.

I am truly impressed by this forum and the knowledge, wished I had knowledge of it earlier.
Was looking for a motion platform for a long time, but building it myself is the real thing :)

Hi, I'm a new member. Only just noticed this thread! Absolutely love this site. I am a 55 year old window cleaner, with no experience in electrical work or computer programming, but with the help of this site, I just completed my first 3dof motion simulator and it's absolutely awesome . In other words, if I can do it, I assure you, you definitely can.

    Hi everyone!

Glad to introduce myself here. I don't even know how I came up in this forum, browsing stuff on the Internet/youtube. But, what I don't understand the most is why I didn't find this gold community before. That's a awesome forum.

I built my own sim-racing made from wood scraps like 15 years ago.. with the exact measurements of my car at that moment (CRX delSol). I'm trying to find some pictures, will add them into the profile image. It was the ugliest playseat ever made jajaja all piece with a different kind of wood.. jaja but it worked perfectly. Since I move to my own place 3 and a half years I give away it because I hadn't space enough... buuut.. jajajaja seeing what you guys are doing here, I'm turning totally crazy.. and definitely I want to at least try to build a new one even if it doesn't fit in my flat.

I'm going to read about the options and setups in the forum, its so much to learn (alu frames, software, actuators, electronics, etc), and I will, hopefully, start a new thread with my build.

    Hi all!

I'm Cezary, 21 year old guy form Poland, I am working on a 2DOF project with SCN5 actuators. I am doing this project with my friend from work (His account @IC_Krzeslo) we do this in our spare time. I have been reading this forum for a few weeks and have learned a lot. Thanks to many posts, I have solved the problems with the actuators. I will write a post about our project in the near future :)

Thanks for being a wonderful community :cheers

    Hello everyone,

I'm Gotti, console simulation fanatic (gran tourismo, asseto corsa, dirt rally).

I am 40 years old and I live on Reunion Island.

I had the opportunity to buy a second-hand simulation on a jack already mounted in 2 dof on a scn6 040-200 base.

I'm more of a handyman and self-taught! I hope to learn a lot from you and also share my experience.

I'm mad at BMW, and I own an M3 e36 that I've fully restored.

Looking forward to chat with you,

    sportingly,

Hi, i´m Renzo from Luxembourg Europe. I started 2 years ago at the low age of 58 with sim racing. I´ve build my own rig with PT Actuator and seat mover from PT actuator. After to years of learning, i would like to do also Flight simulation. Therefore i switched to Sim tools.
