    Welcome @thedan.

Starting off small, testing out ideas and building news skills is a great way to start, particularly if you aspire to build a Stewart platform as your first project.

Bounce your plans and shopping list off members before jumping down what can be an expensive rabbit hole, if you get it wrong.

Use the Enhanced Google Search on the Recent page to find the latest member 6DOF projects, as there have been many refinements to how members build 6DOF rigs.

You will also find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs, including a section on 6DOF rigs: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here, ask any questions you have there and detail your project progress: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Good luck with your project.

Welcome, its great to see another YAW vr user, I recently got a used YAW vr pro. My way of getting in is to lower the footrest to the floor, stand over it with my back to the YAW and slowly shuffle backwards while lowering into the seat, as if I were 95 years old. Works quite well for me, even with passing my racing wheel between the legs. I am fairly tall, which helps. What software do you use, the YAW game engine or Simtools or SRS?

Hi, I'm Lukas and I want to build a 4dof sim rig based on SFX-100. At the moment I'm buying the necessary material, so it's still a long way to go. I'm from the Czech Republic. Any tips are very much appreciated!

Greetings Iam Jon and from AUS.

I've been browsing this forum lately and it's quite fascinating to read about all of the X-Sim development and projects here--quite impressive.

Although I have almost zero programming skills, I have really good mechanical skills and tools, I am really into sim racing (on PS5) and would love to have a motion setup, from reading stuff here that seems like it's getting more and more attainable for the average sim racer. (Even on consoles)

I got a deal on 2 NLR V1.0 motion platforms i could not pass up. unfortunately, they no longer support these early units, so i have come here to try and get some pointers to get them working with an Arduino and Sim tools, i have started a thread on my journey and thought I should introduce myself.
Thanks in advance for all the help the from this community.

    Welcome @DuffmanGT

I see you have a thread started and am interested to follow and find out how hackable the NLR V1.0 actuators are.

Blazing a path is always a bit of a suck and see situation, but everyone benefits from someone figuring out how to get something to work.

    Best of luck.
