    My Motion Simulator:
    6DOF
Hello im new here. as a mechanical engineering project, three classmates and I have decided to do a 6dof motion simulator. Our time duration is one year. I would like to know th prerequisites before starting this project. We have a basic theoretical understanding of mechatronics, actuators, programming languages, plc circuits.
I would appreciate if someone could just direct me from here

    Hi Sanil!
    Welcome here!
Here is a hint : you may want to start your project by using RC servo which is cheap and quickly available?

You'll find some links here faq/what-kind-of-simulator-for-me

Welcome @Sanil, you will find heaps of great and open help here, but please share your works with us as it develops. So we all can learn and students following your footsteps may also quicken their knowledge through your works, Win , Win for everybody.

I have a simple code for the Ard that can control servos and has been used a couple of time to produce a 6 dof model , welcome to use or even be my guest and improve on it, More than welcome.

Hi Everybody! Great to be here, looking forward to a lively exchange.

I am an old man that has a big love for simulated racing. Originally from the GT series on the PlayStation (since the first installment) and with increasing desire to get better I ended up on iRacing. Friends of mine built me a racing seat out of plywood, a used BMW 3series seat and a second hand DFGT. A beauty.

I have since upgraded to Fanatec V2s, still using the DFGT wheel. Also, I have an h-pattern SST Lightning shifter that I am looking forward to picking up soon. Very excited to see where the sim life will take me next.

Goals are generally to become a better, more consistant driver. Rig-wise I would like to develop a tactile contraption with just traction loss for starters.

Hope xsimulator is a clever first step !

    Hi everyone,
I'm not yet ready to go "full DIY" on a motion simulator, though as a rFactor/rFactor2 player, it seems the rFactor2 plugin that we can download here could save me time in the building of a live-data dashboard that we could use in my team to race-engineer our drivers while they race. Though I'm not 100% sure it's what I'm looking for.
What I'd need is something that could take place on our drivers' PC, as a rFactor2 plugin, and get their live data displayed on one or several remote PCs, both as gauges / meters / ... and building graphs (as in i2Pro software, but live). I understand this may be what I could get from the rFactor2 Plugin 3.0.4.0 granted that I - as a programmer - could build a client software of this plugin that would display the data.

    Cheers

Welcome @Scalino , we use the Game Dash in conjunction with SimTools to allow us to read the dash data that our rfactor2 plugin creates. Now from there you can send this data to a port and read that from your application. Sounds feasible but not sure we are sending all the data you require. We only have 20 varibles we can send via the plugin and app.

Welcome to start a build post so others can chime in and help you work it all out, Im sure.

Hi all ........ I'm Tony, I'm starting to design a 2DOF simulator and I am looking for information about the construction emperezar; seeking information on the web I found this site that I found interesting to start.
I already have the engine controller and have connected to the game Assett Corsa; I'm looking for the best software to remove the movement.
    regards

Thank you all for the info! I'll have a thorough look at which data is sent by SimTools.

    Hi,

I am new to this forum. I am private pilot who is out of practice for some years. I am looking to build some realism to a single engine simulator and stumbled upon this site from a Google search. Thanks for sharing.
