Hello. I don't currently own a motion simulator but I'm trying to learn about them. I'm a Unity developer so I've been learning to provide motion data in my own games in the future.

From my point of view, the selling point is how open people are about how it works. Some of the other programs out there they are much more closed about how to develop a plugin, to keep control over it, but that makes it difficult for someone like me who makes small games they wouldn't see a profit in adding support for.

Welcome @Philip_J you have come to the right place, we are currently beta testing an app that allows a video to be played and upto 6dof motion data can be synced with the film, plus if the film doesn't contain motion data it can be created with a couple of tools we have been testing with.

    Hi all.

I have been lurking for a while, soaking up the wealth of fabulous projects, ideas and solutions.

My name is Gary and I am located in Tasmania, Australia. I just want to introduce myself before diving right in and beginning my first motion simulator project.

I would normally be a bit more cautious but have been blown away by the the wealth of openly shared experience and expertise. Be warned, despite the superb existing forum advice I expect to have plenty of newbie questions!

    Hello everyone!

Built my first simulator frame/cockpit in 1999 and have been interested in all sorts of cockpit/motion platforms ever since.

Found this place a while back and finally decided to sign up and explore a bit more.

    Cheers!

Hi all, I've been wanting to build a motion rig for a long long time and finally found these forums with some amazing designs and ideas, after all the posts I've read you are all extremely friendly helpful people.

I'm hoping to start building a 6dof for racing and a bit of prepar3d. I am going to be using the Oculus Rift which I should have in a couple of weeks. Maybe winch motors or big wiper motors I'm not sure yet.

So hopefully I won't be spamming too many questions and I can figure most of it out but I'm sure I will get stuck a lot lol

    Cheers,
    Craig.
