Google translate - Hello everyone , I came across this great site , I hope with your help to be able to build my first dynamic simulator

Welcome @daffydak69. Unfortunately you will need to use Google translate so members here know what you are talking about.

Your will find that we have a very active community, expert advice along with SimTools, motion plugins, howto guides and plenty of tip and tricks to assist you in building your own motion simulator.

Have a look through existing member builds for inspiration: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

The FAQ section gives details about core aspects of building a motion simulator: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

When you are ready then start your own build thread and ask lots of question, even in the planning stages, and you will find many here will give freely of their time, expertise and advice.

Hello everyone! been reading a lot on this site and learning a lot. I bought a g27 setup recently and have always been infatuated with motion simulators since I was a wee one. I love a good project, but I'm slightly out of my element as far as programming and electronics go (although, I am a fast study and already have a good understanding of the basics). I have great friends that each have their unique abilities that are more than willing to help me along. i.e. engineer, programming etc. I am not very close to executing the build, I am in the bare bones conceptual phase of the project and therefor don't even have a budget yet (I'd rather establish the cost of a quality setup rather than just decide on an arbitrary number and settle on material based on that). Anyways, I made an account so I could donate some towards the information I've already received, but probably won't post much until I commence the build seeing as most of the questions I've had have already been answered in existing threads :)

    Welcome @simyoulater.

One of the benefits of the active Xsimulator community is that you can bounce development ideas off people who are well versed in motion simulation, which can save you a lot of time, angst and potentially money. So feel free to post questions that may be specific to what you plan or that are not found easily elsewhere on the forum

Good luck with your project planning.

thanks guys! I have come across a dilemma with my planning so I'll surely be asking after i'm sure there is no similar issue already addressed.

    Hello,
another Aussie here who gladly joined the forum due to accidentally coming across it when searching for / software / programs / cards to run a home made simulator.
had no idea that software etc, was around for home made sims.
do not have a simulator at the moment, plan to build one once funds are healthy and only once I understand the concept, as it's a little confusing at first.
currently using a home made wheel/pedals set-up converted from a game pad circuit, hopefully this can be improved by adding a FFB system using cards and data from SimTools, the money saved "not having to purchase a good FFB wheel" would go towards the sim.
Was a hassle to reduce the wheel play (dead-zone) when using the game-pad circuitry, resolved the issue by using 2 Pots connected to 2 separate axes.
    Cheers.

    Thanks,
will be starting a new thread soon to find out if it's possible to add FFB to the wheel using SimTools etc.
Pics of the current crude "Franken-wheel" prototype will be posted. :blush

Hi all I am new to this forum, I have been playing around with simulators for a while but have just got back into it after a long break. I was a dealer for Rock n Ride years ago here in Australia, I still have my old flight sim based on a modified Rock n Ride platform. I just powered her up after a long rest and to my surprise it still worked. After looking at some of the projects on this forum it is great to see how far things have come. I am now looking at building a new flight sim using electric actuators and Arduino for control, I have just bought some books on Arduino to start to understand it so if I ask some dumb questions please be patient with me. Thanks Realitysys

    Welcome @Realitysys.

Myself and others would be interested in seeing more of your old sim if you could post some pictures to a new thread.

You can find existing arduino code for SimTools in the download section: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/

You will find members here are both knowledgeable and give freely of their time.

My name is Henk. I'm new to this forum which has been brought to my attention by Nick Moxley. (Thanks Nick)

I currently have a tripplescreen office rig, which is a non permanent deskracer solution.
I have a 80/20 rig with 8 buttkickers, custom carbon fiber dashboard and a CSWv2

Simracing is my hobby and the build is half the fun.

Always wanted to add motion to my rig. Last year september i bought a GS4.
I totally love it, but i'm still looking for a way to add a motionsystem to my rig. Combined with the GS-4 it will be awesome.

I do have a couple of problems which will need to be solved first

    - The seat part of my rig is non permanent. A motionsystem should not add too much install time
    - I have no space behind my seat when it's installed in my office rig
    - The seat cannot be mounted any higher than it is now
    - The seat needs be on sliders (otherwise i can't get out of my rig)
    - Xsim needs to be able to work besides simcommander4, because still want to have simvibe, GS4 an AF compatibility

At first i did not think it would be possible to add motion to my rig, but i have learned over the years that if you are really committed, anything is possible

I have been simracing for over 15 years, but 3 years ago i started to take serious steps.
I found a way to transform my business office into a race rig under 10 minutes

I'm very much looking forward to join this community .

I hope share ideas about motion systems and just maybe find a good way to finally finish my rig by adding the much desired motion system.

Welcome @HoiHman, the G-Seat setup you already have is really slick!

There are some options you may want to consider. @bsft's DeskRacer is a very compact motion simulator: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/desk-racer-2-dof.91/

Mine adds some extends the Desk Racer concept: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/dx-racer-compact-simulator.5866/

Then there is the traditional shoulder mount and @Avenga76 has just commpleted one with a G-Seat: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/my-2-dof-seat-mover-gs-4-simvibe-gauges.5596/

There are also a range of other design options: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/different-2dof-sim-builds-feel-free-to-add-designs.5624/

I will have to track it down but there was a also a sim that had electric retractable wheels, which let you move it really easily.

Looking at the quality of your current rig anything you choose to build will be worth following and I look forward to you planned addition of motion.

Hey guys. I've recently got myself a copy of Elite: Dangerous and an X-55 to go with it. I absolutely love it and have been looking for ways to increase immersion. I will be getting a rift (of course) when CV 1 comes out, but I think that a motion simulator would be the final touch. What I've done so far is clamp a vibration speaker to the metal frame of my chair, and it's actually very effective, haha. At the very least it helps me feel the vibration of the engine. I'm thinking a simple 2 DOF to get started.

    Welcome @MagicPuncher.

A 2DOF is a great place to start and an Elite Dangerous plugin is already available for SimTools: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/elite-dangerous-plugin.125/

The CV1 Rift is still likely a fair way off, so plenty of time to build a motion sim while waiting.

Have a good look through existing design options: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/different-2dof-sim-builds-feel-free-to-add-designs.5624/

And peruse the member builds for inspiration: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

When you want to start kicking ideas around then start a build thread and ask lots of question, there are plenty of members willing to help out with suggestions and advice.
