Welcome @hunijjang and congratulations on your recent first anniversary.

You will find many different examples of motion simulators in the member build section, so spend some time going through them for ideas and inspiration: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

You will find members here give freely of their time to help others, so feel free to ask questions and sound out ideas and plans.

When you are ready give an outline of what you would like to create in your own build thread. You will find the community here will help support you in building the simulator of your dreams!

Thanks for the welcome, noorbeast. :)

Can I frame with wood? I'm thinking the 3 axis.(pitch and roll and heave).
However, I'm afraid not withstand the load weights. :sos

Becuase, I asked the iron production enterprise company, which he called the iron produced about 1200 $ but that is not the fix prices. maybe...

Its just only for iron frame produced prices.

    Hi,
I am Heiko from Germany. I started simracing around August last year.
Right now I use the GTultimate V2 cockpit form Next Level Racing without motion. They just released a motion platform for this cockpit and I thought it would be great to have something like that. But it is 2000€ and its slow. At least thats what I read. I am not too satisfied with the seat as well, it has a weird shape and is a little uncomfortable.
So motion with my rig is not the way I want to got, so I started looking for other commercial motion systems and figured out that all of them are expensive.
I stumbled across this forum and started reading. It looks like you have a really nice and an helpful community. This brought up the idea to do a DIY motion simulator.
My project is going to start with a 2 dof seatmover with and will be upgraded with traction loss some time later. Once I started planning a little more, I will create my own building thread and try to add some pictures in the process.
    Heiko

Welcome @konterror, you have come to the right place for DYI motion sim building. It sounds like you ave a pretty clear idea of what you would like to build, so ask questions as they come to mind. You will fine members here will happily provide guidance and ideas.

    Good luck with your project.

    Hi,

My name is Benjamin and I come from Germany.
Because of my Job i didn't had mutch time in the Last Year for SimRacing.
I hope this Year gives me more options for some fun on the Track.

I'am not a Top Racer, but i have Fun with it. My Favorite Sim is rFactor 2.
The Tire Model and the Realroad / Weather Features are realy Nice.

I found this Forum / Community on the Search for Selfmade Motion Simulators.
All my Racing Gear is currently mounted on a bad Wood-based Contruction.
This should be replaced realy soon and the new Contruction will become a 2 or 3 DOF - if anything goes right.

This Community should be the right place to exchange ideas and get some help i think ;)

    Benjamin

    hi every body ,
I'm french , (ST Etienne) and I intend to build a 2 DOF simulator ... After looking around , I understand there are several types of mechanical structures depending on the aim and the budget of course .
My aim is to build a fly simulator for soft actions but with up to 40° tilt and pitch range ....

My budget will be proportional to my knowledge and my ability to achieve actually this project .
Of course , my skill in electronics should incite me to look for an origami web site (paper planes) rather than this one , but fortunately I have experience in web development
and arduino ,...and time it may help...

To sum up ; low budget , large rotation , soft action but also a great garage and a cool wife ....If I don't make mistakes , the good structure seems to be a joyrider type
simulator with two 12V winchs (budget , linar actuators too expensive ) .
Once achieved , I shall add a wiper motor to the back of the seat for rotation to simulate the G strength ....
Electronics & electrical appl : one PC (may be two later) , arduino , monster motor , one pc power supply 850 w, 2 pots ...and simtools of course !

My first step will be to test the simtools interface with the arduino , LFS and 2 small servos.....

Thank you for all the informations you accept to share ... And I hope to be able to give the money back one day .....

    Welcome @Ericsim42.

It does sound like a joyrider style may suit you and creating a working model is a great way to experiment with some ideas, at low cost.

    Hello All!
This is an amazing community and want to already thank you all for the immense knowledge pool that is this site.
I'm interested in all things sim hacking related and I see I have a few fellow nerds here in this community.

I've been working on wind control in Assetto Corsa so thanks to @eorobbie @RacingMat @Ministrinity for getting me started.

I'm really interested in the built-in API for Assetto and others that allows for telemetry data, but I'm just as interested in Simtools to extract that data however the means.

We've hack a Logitech joystick into an awesome Hoonigan e-brake for drifting madness and plan on many more hacks.
Let me know if anyone is interested in seeing a post on any of this…

Thanks for an awesome place to plant my sim-legs.

Here's a pic of the current setup for Oculus Rift:
