Hello, my name is Dave. I'm from Oregon, Illinois(about 90 miles west of Chicago). I have a 7 year old son who loves planes ( like his old man), so I built a simpit a couple years ago and had big dreams of a motion platform for it. I've been a member for a while but lost interest due to frustration of my lack of coding skills (bought an ard uno). I recently got the arduino back out and reignited the motion platform spark. It is very cool to come back here years later and see many of the same people helping others, thank you!

Welcome to the Forum @dberg1. Remember that coding is not the only option to get your platform moving - JRKs and 12v DC Gearmotors don't require any coding, practically plug 'n play!

Roger that. The reason I went with the arduino was cost and I got it from the local Radio Shack, because my wife gets the mail and any time I can avoid an argument is a win for me. If I can't wrap my head around the arduino I will have to go with the jrks. I also acquired a couple reversible 120vac motors with drivers I would love to use.

Hi, I'm in the adventure of DIY simulators since 2010. I currently own a 3DOF simulator where only the seat is movable. It is composed of wiper motors. I'm on a new project to build a new simulator 3DOF always with wiper motors and I think use Simtool software to make it work.

Welcome @stephaned61, you will find SimTools pretty easy to use with lots of knowledgeable members here.

Do start your own build thread and include information about your existing and planned motion simulators, members here will find both of interest.

Good luck with your planned project.

    Hi All

I am a new member but my rig is already updated with the 2DOF system, I have done it by upgrading my fixed DIY one.
I am playing mostly PCars and Assetto Corsa.
I will keep you updated when the adjustments are done.
I got the support from another memebre of this forum to set the stuff.

Thanks for joining us @Baptx and sharing the information, video and photos links for your sim.

Google translate is fine but some people also dual post in their own native language as we have some native French members, so they can help clear up any miscommunications.

Welcome @zatopi, you have come to the right place for DIY motion simulators and you will find very active members here who will lend their advice and expertise.

@bsft has put together a good list of his various styles of 2DOF motion simulators: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/different-2dof-sim-builds-feel-free-to-add-designs.5624/

But if you are into karts you may want to make a simulator out of one, like this: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/cxc-kart-racing-simulator.4940/

One of the many games SimTools supports for motion is Kart Racing Pro: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/kartracing-pro-plugin.4792/

When you ar ready just start a new build thread, ask lots of questions and quick around ideas to refine what you may like to build.

    Good luck with your project
