My first day here, overwhelmed. I tinker with FSX, DSC and a variety of Sim Racing products, Assetto Corsa, RF2, ProjectCars, Dirt Rally, ET2. Using Arduino I would like to expand my sim experiences with some custom control boxes and hopefully in the future expand to more ambitious motion controls. Age 59 with an electronics background but weak spot is programming. Looking forward to the adventure.

    Welcome @Tigagreen.

There is plenty to here on all aspects of motion simulation and you don't meed to program. Have a good look through existing member projects and the FAQs, and ask lots of questions.

Thanks.... I think so..... I will be starting a project page soon. As I have been reading some of the postings I see it would have been part of this forum years ago. Looks like a good group to be involved with.

Use the P0lolu JRk 12v12 then, costs more than ard and MM , but no coding needed, just adjustments in its utility program

    Hello everybody!

My first post about introducing myself. Finnish ad-agency professional with a huge passion for motorsport. I've spent almost 30 years in the paddock, first 20 years as a driver in different national/international karting categories and after that as a mechanic and timekeeper. Now the hunger for action has rised again! But as a father of two boys, the real-life racing is out of question and investements are made to simracing.

I've read many great articles and watched excellent showrooms from your sims. Last week I received Smolka engines, Sabertooth and Arduino boards and the development has begun. The plan is to build 2DOF sim based mainly on @Wanegain Simkit. Let's see how project continues.

    Welcome @Ztanislav.

By all means post in Russian but please do also include an English translation via Google Translate. It saves other members time trying to work out who may need help and who is just posting a comment. We have bi-lingual speakers from many different language group so if Google Translate really messes it up they can help clarify what was intended.

    Hi all,

I'm a recreational Pilot flying Ultralight trikes, I live in Central Western New South Wales, Australia. I have always been interested in flying ever since I can remember, starting off flying simulators on the very first computers with 51/4 " floppy drives. I am planning on building a 6Dof, just doing research on the possibilities, certainly is a lot to go through. :(

    Welcome @Eagletrike, another fellow Aussie!

Yes there is a lot to get your head around but take your time, have a look at existing members builds, read through the FAQs and ask lots of questions. It is a really active community here who freely give of their time and expertise.

Take it step by step and creating your own motion simulator is not only possible, but can be a very enjoyable project, with the members here available at each step along the way.

Welcome @jamiebird76, I am sure you will find SimTools is pretty easy to use and has huge range of game support, with the bonus of a very active community.

Feel free to start your own project thread and use it to show off your motion simulator and to ask any questions you may have.

Welcome to the group...... Your post got me about your trike.
I have always been impressed with those trikes although I never did purchase one. I did buy a Kasperwing that was nothing but parts. I wasn't comfortable with flying mine so I sold it before I got it off the ground....
I used that money to buy my motion simulator also in parts. I have a lot of work to make mine interactive and that is why I joined this group.

Good luck with your Ideas. It will be fun to see your project develop. I hope it performs like your Trike.

I want to know more about your FREX SCM. I don't know this unit.
I am finishing my move from Idaho to Utah. USA and still waiting for my simulator to be transported to my new location. I have permission to use the company warehouse and Will provide pictures soon.
Anyway I want to see what you have.

Welcome @davidmi58, the community here is indeed very active and supportive.

Just to avoid confusion Xsim and SimTools are two different motion simulation programs: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/whats-the-difference-between-simtools-and-x-sim.1/

At this stage SimTools does not provide control support for traducers like the Buttkicker, though that capability is being developed by @yobuddy. Some members are using SimVibe in conjunction with SimTools for transducer control.

Have a good look through existing member builds and the FAQs to gain a good idea of what is possible in DIY motion simulation.

Can you start a build thread of your own and share a little bit about your rig.

hi my name is bruce im in michigan USA. I found this thruogh the forums of IRACING. i have a static rig i built with tube steel but found the motion site aand am sold. I am going to try a 2dof wiper rig first to see. I have my steel and wiper motors (10 bucks at the junkyard). gonna use a driveshaft for the gimbal kinda like the example. still trying to figure out the driver setup but think i can do it but i dont want to buy parts i don't need. after a few post I'll put up a few pics. the stuff on this site is unreal. I'm a residential contractor and do mostly painting. I have light welding skills, good mechanical and fair to good computer skills I won't be writing any code for sure.
