    Hope they come too,

On the heatsink subject , yes two together will work, one might not be enough.

Is what I use 21x21mm complete with heat transfer tape, so ya peel and stick and forget.

Another note because most bodied on the IC are grounded make sure the Heatsink does not come in contact with anything else but the chip its cooling or the results might not be good.

Cool, I'll make sure I have good fans running over the heatsinks. They seem to be small enough to fit nicely and they have adhesive tape on too.

I now have a tracking number for my motors. :)
And I found a universal joint from a steering rack last night. And mounted the free frame I got to the seat. I also dug out some 5mm plate steel which I had for making brackets and motor mounts etc. It'll be very useful but I don't want to use too much of it because it's very heavy. I will be using plenty of it for my 20 tonne hydraulic press that I'm making though.

Good to hear you have a tracking #, I was going to post up and say that pgSaw is a Stand up seller and would make it Right regardless.

    Good to know.
Myself and my friend Dave took a universal joint out of an old steering rack this evening and made a good strong mount for it. It's the first piece of the jigsaw which I've made for this frame build. We haven't even planned it out yet but we're just making a few small parts in preparation. It's handy to get small jobs done like that so when the time comes we can just bolt them in.

I've also downloaded and installed sketchup. I just need to learn how to use it now.

Hi @Barry, my motors have now landed in the UK and are being processed for customs charges! Only 8 weeks so far!

Yes it would seem the slow boat via china is cheaper than all those other couriers.
At least you know they're almost here.
I'm thinking that at least I've got 8 weeks to try and get my frame built up.

Hi @Barry, the latest news on my 2 motors from Canada is a letter from Parcelforce looking for £31 so that they can deliver them to me. So, not a cheap option overall!

Yes I'm expecting a bill as well. Unfortunate but because we can't get anything similar over here we have to accept it.

That kind of suxs , to get around some of those issues , I have mailed directly parts to people in the UK to avoid the import VATS, lol made some jrks cheaper for the last person 20pound cheaper for each. At least you have been able to get them, eventually.
Can not wait to hear how it all goes.

OK, JRKs are soldered up and heatsinks are on.
UJ for seat pivot is welded up and I have steel and aluminium for the frame. I have no real plan made out yet but i'll be doing that this week.

Next up is to get the power supplies ready for action. They're HP server supplies - DPS-600PB
So I just need to clarrify what I need to do with it.

Can someone please tell me if this is correct.
    I connect pins 6, 8, and 10 together.
Connect pin 4 to any GND connection.
    Put a 1K ohm betweeen pins 3 and 9
Connect pin 8 to the GND connections and have the main GND wire coming from there.
Connect the 2 larger +12V connection together and have the main 12V wire from here.

My only other question is really about the wire size needed for these. Will I just use normal wire from a PC PSU?

So what size steel is everyone using to make their basic frame?
I have a bundle of 20mm box which I think would be good but I wanted to check and see what everyone else was using.
20mm isn't too heavy is it? I can't imagine using anything smaller.

I use 25x25x1.6 SHS (SquareHollowSection) in all of my builds have found in the past 20mm tends to bend when used past a 1m long. But in turn its a lot lighter and braced and used correctly shouldn't be an issue. My inside frame for my original joyrider was 20mm and about 1.6m long, flexed a wee bit but never gave way.

I hope to make it modular to a certain degree so I can upgrade parts if I need to. It'll be well braced at the corners and hopefully shouldn't flex too much. I'll get a basic frame made and then get some advice from all of you on the best way to mount the seat, wheel, and pedals.

Are these single pin interconnects good enough for bridging the pins on the power supplies?

Ya im sure those would work, Futaba RC radio/servo connector's can also be used. I just jumped the pins with a Very thin soldering tip (only suggested if your reasonably skilled with an iron.) ;)

Cool. I used to solder chips so soldering wouldn't be a problem but I like the idea of having that plastic protection around the pin just in case it ever took a hit and bent them to short something out. I'll solder up the main Power and GND lines though. I think I have some spare cable from wiring up an amplifier in a car.

Fantastic. That's just what I need.
I'll need to get all my stuff together and get these done as soon as I can now. I want to start making up my board for mounting all the PSUs and JRKs etc.
