I had those style of rod ends FAIL real quick (within a month or 2) The ones I linked are going on a year now i think and the fact they are greased with a Boot means you dont ever have to worry about a tiny grease nipple and having to re grease. I HIGHLY suggest the beefier more robust joints with a Boot.

I have been using mine for a long time Nick, no failure yet. They will break if you have too extreme of an angle though (as I learned with my 6DoF) and you are very much correct; the ball joint type are much more robust.

I agree, it could depend on angles and motors' strenght. Right now - and for the last time - I'm on wiper motors, so strenght its not too much (...) and with the angles, I'd be good.
The next time should a motor's arm break again I go with motion dynamics ones

Ya i hear ya, Ive been told a few have those cheap style with no issues, I guess i got a Bum set. I had spacers so it wasn't an angle issue. The Standard rod end joints (sizes we use) have an angle capability of 13-14 degrees where as mine have an angle of 25degrees so essentially double ensuring there's almost NO rig they cant accommodate. I also feel the SQ 10's have far more "BALL" the joint can capture, there for keeping it tighter Longer.

Couple charts to look at and your looking at the "a" figure

Waiting for the joint to arrive I switched motors and controllers' box position, cause for the shoulder mount I needed more space for the correct angle.

    WP_20150901_19_32_06_Pro.jpg

Once I reconnected everything, testing the stuff, I got this problem: when I move one motor the other one slowly - and just in one direction - moves too. It happens with both motors.
    What could it depends on?

Solved the 'unwanted motion' problem, I ordered new couplers

Now I'm looking for hall effect pots.
    Got any links for Italy/Europe?

You should be able to get Hall sensors from Element14 distributors, which have worldwide outlets: http://www.farnell.com/

Thanks @noorbeast , may I ask you the differences between

    6127V1A180L.5FS (http://it.farnell.com/bi-technologi...fs/sensor-hall-0-2v-20v-to-10v-pin/dp/2319662)
    and

    6127V1A180L.5 (http://it.farnell.com/bi-technologi...-5/sensor-hall-0-5v-20v-to-10v-pin/dp/2319678)

Is 500mvo as output voltage for the xxx.5 (compared to the 200 mvo for the xxx.5FS) too much?

Nice work Blame73, one thing that I noticed though. I have read that transducers are not supposed to be mounted vertically as this causes rubbing on the internals. There are a couple of bass shakers designed specifically to be mounted sideways but they are rare.

Yours looks like a DIY solution? That might work just fine as long as the fiber cone holds out but again even those are meant to be mounted horizontally.

I did have an Aura 50 ohm mounted vertically on the back of my seat and it did indeed fail after a month or so :( The other four mounted horizontally on the corners are still going strong.

Yes, they're DIY, I got one per side. You can see how I built them a page back (http://www.xsimulator.net/community...st-updated-2015-09-10.6029/page-10#post-76729)

I know it would have been - theorically - better if I mounted them horizontally, but I mounted vertically cause:
    1) I already had the holes.
    2) (Mainly) This way they're connected straight to the seat. If I connected horizontally I had two layers of wood before the seat, and not being very powerful I would have lost a lot of 'power'.
I tried doing so (horizontally) and the vertical mount is far better and it also gives more 'stereophonic' feelings.
In four months they haven't already failed

Ok guys, this is an happy man writing!

I just finished the 2.0 version of the rig, moving the levers from the base of the seat to the shoulders.
Needless to say - as always everybody points out - that this is a much better solution because of the lever.

It seems I now got more powerful motors (still wipers though...) and I can feel some more details I before didn't.

One first pic, more to follow
