If you know nothing about step motors and what they are capable of. a step motor could easily wipe your wiper motor off the chart. People like you and noorbeast are the exact reason why i added a clause at the beginning of my post. Forums are meant for people to find each other and help each other in the most organised way possible. I'm sure i'm not the only one googling for information and fall on forums posts after forums posts, branching out into 10 different subjects or people just venting or just giving information that means nothing but just sounds complicated enough that they think they'll impress the crowds. Now see all the precious time you're making me waste. Thanks a lot for your wonderful input kid.

Thanks a lot for that pulley system tool link. It doesn't seem to take torque in account but i'm pretty sure this tool is ideal for anyone programming their motion controller. It would be a major time saver to have. That's a great step in the right direction non the less.

For a well known member of this site, i always wondered, how does it feel to earn an online status that the online community seems to respect when you obviously have nothing to offer to that community? I'm asking because i know absolutely nothing about Astrophysics but i was hoping i could become a well known member of the Astronomy department of Harvard University. Do you think i could pull it off?

Well then i think you're just not being fair with everyone at all. I think to redeem yourself, you should take your next weekend to take the time to read every single posts of the entire forum and every time you find a post you don't understand what they are talking about, just make sure they know so the world will be better off.

Point out where I said a wiper motor would be better than a stepper?
I listed what people actually use, nothing more. If you had actually looked at sims with different motor combinations you could see the performance that they have and yes wiper motors are not the best performers but still work for people on a budget.

You say you don't want to spend a lot of money yet you go on about stepper motors, please show where your "research" that shows a cheaper stepper motor than a geared DC brushed motor with with similar specs https://www.motiondynamics.com.au/worm-drive-motor-12v-24v-200w-180-rpm-20nm-torque.html
A stepper motor itself won't have exactly the same specs but consider the rpm and torque.

Now go "waste" more of your time by opening your eyes to other possibilities that are tried and tested.

@Onsc3ne . I must say im impressed. I mean I though I was the rude one going off , but you my friend have outdone me. You have started a thread. Stated that you dont know and asked others if they dont know not to answer . Members have suggested and offered help. You have then outright abused them . And better still , had a rude shot at a member whom has stated they have no idea. Wow. Im in awe. Never have anyone seen in years the absurdness and blantent arrogance of a new person. You should be rewarded with many 1000s of coins , made a full beta tester , given full admin and moderator rights. Heck , lets just give you full control. As obviously you know more than the experience shared here over the 4 years i have been here. Please , consider this a warm welcome. I can no longer reply as obviously I cannot compete with such outstanding knowledge and proven ideas such as yours . I stand aside my friend and will only now take your word as truth.....
    Sincerely , Dave.

I'm certain you could "Pull it off" as you suggested. I feel so downcast but have to admit I haven't got a clue what you're ranting about and I would assume the majority of members here (who have perfectly running sims made in the old fashioned and proven way!!) are in a similar state.
You're not getting anywhere here with this forum who in the main see no point in "re-inventing the wheel" so to speak.
    SO...............hint hint......................????????????????
