    Hi Rob,

great that you enjoy the profile - I really like it as well...
Regarding your question (handbrake) in my blog: Please check this posting http://www.sim-parts.com/?p=147 - it's simple, but it works awesome ;-) !

    Bye,
    Chris

    Thanks Chris!

Btw, it seems we have the same sort of config on the hardware, and the same taste of profiles too. Maybe we should share some profiles.
    Games i play are:

    - Dirt2
    - GTREvolution
    - GT Legends (still no good profile...)
    - RFactor (Working on a decent F1 profile based on bernards pack)
    - RBR (also looking for a good standard profile)
    - Grid
    - NFS Shift (works only with the crappy frex boxes)

I have to mention that i can adjust some profiles on a simple way, like adjusting values for lat/long amount, but still don't understand it fully.
Today i wil test the profiles Nima has posted with the slider control:)

    Regards,

    Rob

    Hi Niels,

I have your profile with sliders for RFactor, its great, but when i put 'g-force' slider to 100% it does not go sideways enough i think, also the 'shifter' slider is kind of 'slow' if you know what i mean. for the rest of the profile its very good and smooth!
Thank you for making things easy'r for us noobs ;)
Do you only have a slider-profile for RFactor? or do you have one for GTR2/GTLegends (those games seem to have the same sort of motion output)

And what do you mean by making a profile online?

    Regards,

    Rob

Sorry, no i do not have any problems with Dirt2...
Maybe reinstalling XSim? and do you use the Dirt2 plugin in the sender?, also check your hardware settings config file.
I use the Profiler on a separate netbook. so i use two pc's.

    Regards

@Rob: Did you have to set up the two actuators when loading Nima's slider profile the first time ? Basically this is no problem, but I didn't know how to sort it. SN xxxxxx position out = left/right actuator POSITION, right ? In all other profiles the names are different than here - strange :? !

You're right - it seems we have the same config and nearly the same taste :D !

    Here we go:

rFactor --> I use Berney's profile (from the profile pack) and ledfoot's profile. I have set the SCN5 settings here to 22500 (speed) and 800 (acceleration) ;D
GTR Evolution --> I use a profile which I have modified a little bit. I mostly drive WTCC Extreme.
Dirt 2 --> Our profile with 22500 (speed) and 500 (acceleration)
Need for Speed Shift --> absolutely disappointed, because it's a holy mess to drive NFS with wheel and pedals :thbd:
    RBR --> I have RBR here as well, but I didn't try it with motion yet... it's a LFS-profile, isn't it ?
Grid --> I tried it many months / a year ago with a basic LFS-profile. Would like to try it with a better profile now again (but I think this will be AFTER our move)

I'm also thinking about a triple screen setup (yes, still.........) - and I think, that I will go for it after our move.

@Niels: Sorry, couldn't call you yesterday and I don't know wether I will have the time for trying your slider profile. I have to fully disassemble the simulator at the latest on Monday  !

@riton: Sorry, man - I didn't have this error message. Maybe you should fully uninstall your X-sim software, clean the registry (manually or with the reg-cleaner in the X-sim directory) and re-install the newest version. I think it should work then...

    - This is because some people named there scn5's differently ;) The lowest number is the right one, and the other one is the left.

You're right - it seems we have the same config and nearly the same taste :D !

    :D

rFactor --> I use Berney's profile (from the profile pack) and ledfoot's profile. I have set the SCN5 settings here to 22500 (speed) and 800 (acceleration) ;D

Thanks, where can i find ledfoots profile?

GTR Evolution --> I use a profile which I have modified a little bit. I mostly drive WTCC Extreme.

I use the one i posted in the profiles section a while ago, its good for me.

Dirt 2 --> Our profile with 22500 (speed) and 500 (acceleration)

This profile rocks, even with the jumpy trucks and buggy's

Need for Speed Shift --> absolutely disappointed, because it's a holy mess to drive NFS with wheel and pedals :thbd:

Yeah i know, its not a sim, then again its fun to drive, though i don't because of the lack of motion.

    RBR --> I have RBR here as well, but I didn't try it with motion yet... it's a LFS-profile, isn't it ?

Yes it is, will be hard to make a decent profile, but this old game still rocks in terms of psychics and reality.

Grid --> I tried it many months / a year ago with a basic LFS-profile. Would like to try it with a better profile now again (but I think this will be AFTER our move)

Grid is ok, but i don't like the game that much, strange because i love Dirt2 ;)

I'm also thinking about a triple screen setup (yes, still.........) - and I think, that I will go for it after our move.

    I am still using a 1080p beamer and i love it :)

Yes, I know, why you have to rename the actuators when loading the profile ;) - but in this special case with Nima's profile there are completely unknown descriptions. The problem is NOT the name, but the description. So I didn't know exactly what to do. But now it's okay... ;D

ledfoot's profile --> please ask him. I don't know wether Mike has posted the profile here... I've got one for the Porsche Cup and one for F1.
Grid --> the same with me. I really loved Grid. But then I've got Dirt 2 and now I have a new love :D !

You still use your 1080p projector ? Hmm... This is what I'm thinking about: 1080p projector on a (curved) Widescreen wall (maybe with back projection), or 3x 1080p 32 TFT with an ATI 5870. The small height of the 32 TFTs is not a problem, because I have the roof and the roll-cage on my sim - this would be realistic, and I could use the bezels of the TFTs as a-pillars :D !
I still don't know... maybe I'm able to decide this after our move (I really hope that *fg*) !

Maybe Nima can create a slider profile for RBR too ? This would be awesome...

Rob, do you plan to share your modified slider profile for rFactor ? Would be interesting...

Of course i will share it, when its modified to my needs, Niels has offered to help, so we will try tomorrow;)

I will ask Mike for the profiles, thanks:)

If i have a solid RBR profile, witch i am planning of making (modding) these days i will share it also.

I do not use my projector on a curved screen, i don't think it will be better. in terms of immersion this is the best i have had, but 3 screens like Ledfoot would also be awesome! My screen is about 3meters by 1.5meters so very big and i am (my face) about 2 meters away from it. i will post some pics later. or check out my video if you did'nt already:

@Rob: Thanks for this vid, it's great... And you drive the same track in Croatia as I do :hi: ! I'm in a deep battle with one of my colleagues - but for now, he has to top my time :D !

You're right, the big screen is great - I already had a projector (but DLP, 4:3 format) with a 160cm wide screen approx. 100cm away from the seat and it was great. But now I'd rather want to have a little more to view around me. I think, I will give the three 32 TFTs a try... Oh man - I fear I have too many ideas for the time when I'm reassembling the sim :uups: !

What's your nick in Windows Live ? Maybe we could drive against each other some day ? Would be GREAT fun :highfive: !

My nick is of course 'Splendiddd' lol...

    Looking forward to it !

About the screen issue.. i think (do not know) the setup that Ledfoot has, with 3 Vizio 47 120hz 1080p LCD screens would be the best setup. but in terms of cost one (or two) 1080p beamers would be enough. The difference in 720p and 1080p is huge with such a big screen. i also recommend Epson as a good value for money. I have this beamer for almost 2 years now and its great.

I have to admit i prefer Ledfoot's setup, maybe in the future (more then 2 years :() i will do something like that...

Okay, my nick is Leberkaspfandl :D ! See you there :hi: !

Mike's sim is awesome, but for me the 47 inchers are way too big - caused by the roof and the chassis of my sim. I'd go for the 32 !
    I think, that 2x 1080p projectors cost much more than 3x 32 or 40 TFTs !?

You're right, the Epson projectors are great. I'll go for the Epson TW3500 for the new home cinema in the living room. I tried watching movies with a DLP, but unfortunately I had big problems with the RBE. So I have to buy an LCD.

    Hi to all,

I am currently trying to play around with Dirt2, but had no luck in getting motion  . I have used
the hardware config file and the plugin uploaded by sirnoname. While the game is running, the outsim window shows nothing but zeros.

Any tips there would be greatly appreciated. :sos:
