the belt tensioner gives a good feeling in addition to that of the platform,
but the price of the belt tensioner does not really make you want.
for me the DIY construction was more than possible.

If my project interests you, let me know. I will give you the plans and the code.

Thank you so much for the offer. Your project definitely interests me, but I've realised that I have all the parts I need already by re-using my original wiper-motor 2dof proof of concept. I think it will be perfect for the job, and I'm happy to find a use for all those spare parts :)

new video of my belt tensioner after some modification of the code.
there are still a few modifications to be made to be perfect, the vibration noises are quickly tiring, I have to modify the fastening systems of the belt rollers.
the ball bearing vibrates during small movements.

This is looking really good. How powerful is the wind simulation? Powerful enough for vr?

I don't have wind measurement tools. but its potency is sufficient to feel its effect on the face and hands.
I don't know the effect strength of other wind simulators to be able to compare.

Nice work, I am interested to hear more details of the SMC3/VFD hardware used, wiring, tuning and use?

I have not changed my 30/1 reducers on the left and 40/1 on the right on the yaw effect I am on a double reducer which creates a 100/1.
    2 three-phase motors of 1500 rpm + 1 of 3000 rpm.
    2 VFDs AT1-1500 + 1 AT1-2200.
the classic smc3.ino code in an arduino nano. for the moment module 6 arduino 5v relays (I will create an electronic PCB to replace the relays).
the PWMs are connected directly to the VFDs (potentiometer location).
some parameters to modify in the vfd at the velocity level p34=1000hz p42=1000hz.
    external control setting p10 p11 p12.

Thx! Are u willing to share the code? Love your design and might want to copy it, as it is much more simple compared to wiper motors
