Re: Ego's SimforceGT vers.2 with SCN5 and some special features

    It is alive :yippiee:

The wheel force-feedback is as strong as before. The construction did not affected the strenght at all. Feels rock solid
So I can recommend this construction to all of you who had doubts due to the additional mass inertia. It works amazingly well!

Have driven some rounds with different SCN5 profiles so far, but I think I will have to make one on my own now.
The available community profiles did not meet my taste.

I will upload a vid of the sim and wheel later. Have to paint the face wall in the garage white now. It is too dirty to work as a screen currently.
I guess it will dry shortly.

    Stay tuned...

Was war´s denn?

Irre, echt.

    Gruß

Re: Ego's SimforceGT vers.2 with SCN5 and some special features

Re: Ego's SimforceGT vers.2 with SCN5 and some special features

I have set up the beamer this evening, the wall is dry and snow white, and I spent some hours of driving LFS (it is the easiest game to make profiles for beginners btw) with my SCN5 sim already.

I hardly can imagine how some of you guys are able to stand to drive a SCN5 accelleration of ~500.
Currently I am playing with accelleration values arround 60, and it works really well and I do find it very immersive.
I am quite satisfied with my LFS profile. With this accelleration value I am able to drive for several hours.
And my SCN5 did not get hand-hot even. They kept absolutely cold.

Btw, for some reason I am not getting more than 60 outs/s with my cheap/blue converters. Perhaps there is a relation to my very low accelleration setting. I dont want to delve into this issue here, just wanted to mention it.
Tomorrow I will check if I have V-Sync enabled.

It got late today...But I am ready to post a vid tomorrow night for sure.

    Regards
    Christian

Re: Ego's SimforceGT vers.2 with SCN5 and some special features

Here is my footage finally

The profile is very basic still, but feels quite good already. I just have to add more action in case of touching walls or cars. But the g-forces and the road surface is simulated well.
It is a pity that the video quality is not good enough to display the very little movemets.
Though one cannot see them, they are noticeble quite good while driving.

    However, here it is:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENouzRWY_Ow

    SCN5 plugin settings:
-limiter off (but 90% global limiter in math table)
    -Speed:16000
    -Accelleration: 35
(please keep in mind that my seat position is pretty much upright, and that my SCN5 arms have big angles. Depening on construction and driver weight, a low accelleration value of 35 may be critical, if the limiter is disabled)

Btw, I am going to try to improve my driving skills on the Nordschleife before posting another vid

To be honest, primarily I was a little disappointed with the driving immersion in my rig and LFS. But it seems just to be the overall game quality of LFS. I do find it just boring.

Fortunatly GTRE feels fantastic in comparance imho thumbs2
It is a really amazing driving experience, and the longer I am driving, the deeper I am getting immersed into the simulation. It feels great :yippiee:

    Hi Chris,

i don´t want to boost your Ego too much, but your profile looks very very great. One of the best sim movements i ever saw here. A great combination of lateral and longitudinal movements as i like it. The angles of your scn5 are perfect. How did you find out the right measurements and angles for the arms, are your angle brackets movable?

And did you move your seat with the SCN5 by hand to find out the right distances? Questions, questions, questions...

Btw. the green clor settings of your cam are to high, or did you use green ambient garage light? :D

Re: Ego's SimforceGT vers.2 with SCN5 and some special features

That profile you made in your video, IS the movement too much?
That seems same type of movement you see in a FRex system.

Maybe its really to do with your angle of your scn5. You must have correct setup.
Also I have noticed that alot of people have thier scn5 connected to a BAR.

My self, I will be connecting them to the seat so they will be alot closer together. I am not sure if this will down-grade performance.

Nice video, can't wait to see more.
