    Could you please take a video with the next Elite Dangerous update when they update the pointers. Then you could understand better how you can find and use the pointers on your plugin. I have already seen the video linked by you, but I think it would be more special for Elite if you recorded the process. Your work is really excellent, my simulator works great with the plugin, I wouldn't want to miss it anymore.

    I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but this is important to raise.. my issue about adding telemetry is currently in the top 10 of reported issues, and in their recent update it has the following note on it:

    "Expose Telemetry Data For Motion Simulators: We're currently discussing this internally, and may decide against it. If it does go ahead, it won't be before Update 8." Source: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/elite-dangerous-issue-report-10-08-2021.587868/

    Hi yes - I was actually watching that very ED Supercruise news livestream when the issue tracker contents were being discussed.
    I even posted a message in their livestream chat and pointed out the 'telemetry request' being at No.10 on the list with 175 votes and we've been asking for it for 6yrs now. One of the CM's pointed out that just because it was No.10 (i.e. near the top of the loooong list) did not mean it would defo be sorted out and at this time it was not yet being actioned and was being discussed internally and any action was TBC (to be confirmed).
    When they were later discussing each issue one by one, Bruce Garrido again made the point that for motion telemetry 'they may decide against it'. I hope they go ahead with it and if they don't - they at least have the decency to say 'why' they decided not to.

    I find it disheartening that the two not started items are things that those seeking the greatest immersion would care about.. 32+buttons and telemetry output.. its a joke given Braden has said public ally they are seeking to make the most realistic space sim in the past :( the definitely need to say why if they don’t implement it.

    Agreed my friend.

    Reasons why the won't implement it:
    The way I see it is that FD have always been resistant to something that 'could' give an unfair game advantage to players i.e somehow being able to influence/change other players game experience, adjust other players ship movements, or adjust your own ship movements automatically in reaction to other ships etc - this can't happen with a read-only API for motion data from the players own pc which would only control their own ship movements - not other peoples.

    Additionally, FD may choose not to implement it because thay see a financial advantage in selling the ability as an extra feature to the game, however, this is something they have never adopted or promoted as an option during the last 7-8 years of the game existance (and during the time of our ability to have sim motion data for ED like we have now via SimTools).

    Finally, they may wish not to implement it because they can't/dont know how to. I don't really believe this to be true though as they do have some experienced and skillful programmers and anyway, Marcelo, Chief technical Officer of SimRacingStudio has even offered to allow one of his own development team to be dedicated to assist FD in implementing it into ED, as they have done for software houses like EA. So no real excuses there really.

    I think it's kinda sad that with no real excuse not to implement it - they can't be bothered to so far and keep fobbing us off (without any reason) and we are a dedicated core of players who've gone out of our way to either design and build a rig at our own expense or purchased one at our own expense, all for the use in THEIR game to - as you say, and as David Braben has stated, have the very best space sim there is. I even demoed one of mine at an Elite event (with some of the then CM's having a go in it) - and they even featured it on one of their online ED newsletters (No. #200) - sheesh!!

    I personally see no reason why they cannot implement an API when pretty well everything can be provided to them to do so.

    Kudos to you tho for raising a ticket for it and getting 170+ to sign it. We can only hope......

    I know that YawVR have sent multiple requests, and even offered them free simulators :( and SimRacingStudio have offered dedicated access to one of their developers too

    aw no - FD have updated EDH and EDO today.
    I haven't downloaded Odyssey update yet but I did download Horizons update for a quick few games of CQC.
    Motion has stopped in EDH so I suspect EDO has stopped too (argh!). Back to joystick mode for now but hoping @Wagnard can work his usual magic soon
