    Wagnard.

I just read another conersation (FlyPTMover) that MSFS2024 may be has the same pointers as MSFS2020.
Is there any easy method to update the MSFS2020 plugin?

    George

No idea, I didn't make the msfs2020 plugin. Also its not pointer based, it use simconnect.
I guess old plugin just need an update to detect the msfs2024 exe.

Update: I have tested with a simconnect program that I had and it work just like with MSFS2020, so it should be easy to adjust to MSFS2024 for the plugins author.

    Hello Wagnard,
After years of sleeps, I finally got a rig moving, and I have a few questions to make Elite Dangerous work on it. It moved a bit, then it stopped. Now, nothing works. I thought about sending you a private message, but I think that many may have the same questions, so I'll ask them here. Sorry if they were answered before, I did not read the 41 pages of this tread.
    1. How do you know which version of Elite is installed? I keep the latest version, but I did not find any visual to confirm that I am at the latest version.
    2. MOVER now has a source for Elite. Will the update of the offset pointer file update that source? It is written that it uses your pointers.
    3. Is putting the EliteDangerous64_Offsets.zip in the Update app of Simtool the right way to update the pointers? Or do we need to do something else?
    4. If MOVER is up to date with pointers and everything, do we still need Simtool to make it work? (I understand that you may not know that one)
    5. How's the health?

    Thank you and take care.

Hey Pierre , hope you are well,
Ill answer your question fast here, and if you need more information we could continue in PM in french hehe

1- The plugin use an XML with both odyssey and the old horizon. For the plugin to know what is runnings, it check on what folder the EXE is. Usually "Products\elite-dangerous-odyssey-64" for odyssey, so if that is detected we know its odyssey.

2- I Have not tried the new MOVER yet. but yeah It support an XML that I put on a github here : https://github.com/Wagnard/EliteDangerous-Motion-Pointer and MOVER is supposed to take it from there or will in the future, haven't checked yet.

3- On simtools 3, update is automatic, on simtools 2, I think the drag and drop work. You can check the XML after if they were replaced correctly.

4- nope, MOVER should take care of everything. But this also mean that mover will need some code like mine to identify some stuff like if it's odyssey and if we are in a SRV or not.
Unless mover already did all of that you could still use simtools and passing the info to mover. that way it use the code in my plugin to identify stuff.

5- Still alive and more energy than a few months ago so it's good, not perfect but good.

I was able to make the game move my rid with Simtools, but I could not get values from the game in Mover. It seems it worked for a while, then, something went wrong and I could not get values no more.
The problem seems to be coming from Mover, so I wrote on its thread about it.
Here is a video of Elite Dangerous moving my rig using Simtools.

There is an update today for Elite Dangerous, I'll get the new pointers later today.

@Pierre Lalancette I'll try it with mover myself when I get a chance.
