You need to install the patch to where EliteDangerous32.exe is located.

If it's still not working maybe they have updated the game again and the plugin will need updating too

    hi @SilentChill ,
my installation path for elite dangerous is: C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1010

i tried to patch several times but the message "patch installed" NEVER pop up.
i double checked with the racing game LFS, here is everything fine and the message "patch installed" appear.

    now i'm lost...
i'm using elite dangerous from the Elite-Launcher (frontier) not via steam, is this something to keep care about it which platform i use?

how i can see whether the current version of elite is compatible to SimTools ?

Ermmm I'm not sure ? looks like correct install Dir. The game is still 2.0.0.8 which is what the plugin was for it is working fine here I just checked.

Are your other games outputting values into the tuning settings in simtools game engine ?

i've still probplems to setup SimTools.
I already installed live for speed , patched the game, but cannot see any movement from the game to SimTools, also cannot see any movement/changes inside the TuningCenter.
The virtual axis inside GameEngine Windows also does not show any movements :(

    quick question:

in the quick installation guide of simtools, saw the following requirements
    Requirements
    a) Mandatory :
    • Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8
does this mean, that windows 10 does not work ?

    hi,

here some additional information about the problem to run SimTools propertly

    i'm using Widows 10 btw.

so i tried the "joystick plugin" to findout some more helpful relations between APP SimTools-Engine and SimTool-GameManager.

    1. if i started the SimTools-Engine and SimTool-GameManager, the SimTool-Game-Manager said "connected" :thumbs

    2. i patched the joystick-plugin into the \SimTools directory as discribed and i've got the Window "patch installed (in White color not in green color) , so i guess its fine :thumbs

    3. when i'm in the output testing menu and the Axis testing is started i can change the values in the Tuning-Center by using the sliders in the axis-testing menu of the SimTools-GameEngine. :thumbs

    4. when i check whether the joystick deliver data by using the SimTools_Joystick_Recorder.exe i can see in the generated texfile, that the parameter for all related sticks and switches were recorded:thumbs

    5. back to SimTool-gameEngine, in the output setting under virtual Axis (activated by turned on) i cannot see any changes when i'm using (moving) the joystick, so seems to be that the connection to the Engine does not work ?:(:(:(:(

    6. also cannot see any changes in the TuningCenter in the green upper area, also cannot see changes in the red lower area :(:(:(:(

    7. i'd tried several games,
elite dangerous (no message of patch installed)
LFS , here comes the right patch installed message, but also does not wor.

seems to be the same issue , that the information cannot collect out of the application or cannot route to the SimTools application propertly.:(:(:(

also double checked the firewall in windows10, theres no limitation regardings SimTools

has anybody an idea whats going on with my setup ? :sos

    SimTools with Win10 works fine.

A problem with installing SimTools does not belong in the ED thread. Nor is there enough information for members to assist, you need to tell us about your rig hardware and post pictures of things like your interface settings. EliteDangerous 64bit needs fixing. Currently the only plugin that works is the 32bit version of @SilentChill , which can be found here. Are you aware, @kermitkong?

Man, you're a hero! Now I have to fire up all my gear I just turned it off, to try this!

I understand why you (& value1 for that matter and the other plugin heroes) won't take donations, as you don't want this to be a "job" that puts you on the hook for these things, but i'd be clicking that button if it were here :D

I need Frontier dev to fix Elite on the HTC Vive... I was hoping that comes soon, but now I hope it doesn't!

Forgot to mention I don't have the steam version so I have no idea if it works on there.

Tonight I'll try for the Steam Version. I think it will work because steam version is just launching the ED launcher :p

Thank you @SilentChill and @value1 for this plugin hug:!!
