I already have twice and @value1 also has. I have got no response at all from them. Pretty poor show tbh :(

    Done.

Out of curiosity is it impossible or extremely difficult currently to add a nice "bump" when the docking clamps latch on (and smaller one when they release) currently, or is it just too much extra work given that you guys already work your butts off to give us motion in general?

I want this more even that SRV support (in VR).

    Craig,

I just get an answer from Fdev about API, here are their words:

"I personally love the idea of playing the game using a simulator chair and VR, though unfortunately we in Support cannot really help you with your request.

Can you tell us a bit more about the chair and the 3rd party plugin you use, is this your own development? I'll try to find out what the best point of contact is for your request."

I think that should be a good sign that they asks about the details what kinda things we are using and what exaclty we need.
So, please help me to answer them, (as an expert of this system) about the details and requirements what we need.

By the way this guy is cmdr Kosmos, from Fdev , looks like he loves the idea that we are using. Maybe it is nothing, but who knows? maybe sooner or later.......
So, please reply with the details, or ideas what can I reply to him.

    Cheers,
    George

I too got a reply, but mine was significantly different. I have no idea how to answer his question so I hope you guys can help out with that. The text follows:

    ---------------------------------------------
Thank you for getting in touch.

We have another very similar contact that may be from another member of your team on this subject.

We have asked them for more information regarding what is needed for this, for example, are you after the ROT and combined force vector?

Or do you need more information than that?

This is something we can only ask them and unfortunately, cannot make any promises regarding this.

    Best regards,
    XXXXXX

I have removed the name of the FD rep who sent the message, IMO nobody here should have anything but love for someone who has responded in a positive way but you never know on the internets...

We've got to try to get the guys who make this plugin to respond to the dev's ASAP, while we seem to have their attention!

@value1 , @SilentChill talk nerdy to us, we need technical info for responses to the devs! <3

Great, now its looking like they didn't throw our requests to the trash....
As we get the detailed technical requirements we will send back to them.

    Cheers,
    George

Yes that is what we want Rotation values pitch , roll, yaw and also the Force vector values such as surge, heave and sway. Obviously we want them for the ship as well as the SRV. The rotation values we need as speed rather than degrees and the force values should just be the force values not much to get confused about there.

Happy you got a reply ;) as its been total silence here for me

edit: @value1 is the one who know exactly what we would want he is far more brainy than me :)

SilentChill is right, the minimum we need are angular speed (pitch, roll and yaw in e.g. [rad/sec]) and the accelerations (surge, sway, heave in e.g. [m/sec²]) in local (ship's) coordinates.

OK, then, I just sent back to the DEV, what exactly we need. If answered, I'll response...

    Guys,

I just have a reply from FDEV about API, here is:

    "Hi George,

Many thanks for getting back to us. So I've had a chat with a few people and this is the feedback I've received:

    - We agree with you, third party API is important to us and we are looking to create something along the lines of your description.
    - We don't have a concrete date for when this might become a reality for you, however we think it may be sooner rather than later.

I understand that's very vague, however those of you who have been using the API in the past will know about it when we release what I'm talking about. :)

Thanks for your patience! Let me know if I can assist with anything else.

    Regards,

    CMDR Tronador"

They can't promise us anything, or date, but I think it's something now. By the way I have been sent them the minimum requirements that value1 gave us, so I hope they will make something to fit to our requirements....

    Cheers,
    George

A step forward is still a step in the right direction @George Dobransky and a response means there is a reasonable excuse to touch base every once in a while to check progress and as a reminder :thumbs

    Guys,

I just installed the newest plugin after a long holiday, but I don't have movements. The plugin is connected (game running, blue), but no values at tuning center
    as no movements.
I have tried to copy manually wow64ext.dll also to the install dir, but still not working. Ed vers. is 2.3.11, is that also works with plugin 2.3.10?

The problem is resolved by itself... Strange, but after few minutes of playing the motors started to move and
    it is working now....STRANGE...

    Cheers,
    George

    Hi Guys,
this is great news! - at last, an acknowledgement of our plight from FD. Well done @George Dobransky and @Trip Rodriguez for posting your replies here. I too have made quite a few requests of FD regarding this but never got any reply. I for one am glad that the persistence of Simtools forum members has at last secured a reply from the 'right people' at FD. Lets hope they come through with the goods.
On the down-side, I read George's posting (above this post) late last night regarding the latest plugin for ED not working (which is what I thought) - then read his final post that says it was working. I checked again just now and realised Craig did a further update of the plugin back in June ( I last updated in May - but it stopped working shortly after when Elite updated). I had reverted back to joystick mode and didn't check back here since. Been in joystick mode for last few months - lol. Won't make that mistake again.
Just installed plugin and way-hay! - back in game data mode again. Plugin 2.3.10 works fine for me in ED ver 2.3.11
take care guys and keep us posted if you get any updated info from FD.

Updates often break the plugin, @SilentChill is pretty good at reviewing it but does so in his own spare time, so in the interim try the generic Joystick Plugin.

    Hi There,

I Have X56, with 2 usb. One for the thrust unit, one for the joystick unit.
I can only use with the joystick plugin one in the same time.
Any ideas to use both USB units (thrust and joy) with the joystick
    plugin?

    Cheers,
    George
