Working perfectly for me and not even update in administrator mode, just drag over the updater plugin both the plugin and the offsets

Just got in from work to find ED has been updated with a patch. I suppose there was always a risk of this happening soon after a major update.
Just hoping Craig locates the similar perfect offsets as we had in the last xml. As always - I'd be more than willing to help with this if I knew what I had to do... (got the sw tools but need a 'good' guide).

    Guys,

All we know that the final solution could be the API output from the game. I have already get a promise from FDEV, but
it's nothing to us. I just ask everyone here to send a request for the API output to FDEV, maybe on some happy day we will get it, but seriously, please send them a request maybe they will bored about that lot of request and they will put it sooner.
The other way, FDEV will start the ED payable contents next year, not much as we know till now about it, but just
imagine that if lot of us will have different contents and versions, who will make us a lot of different plugins???? We cannot expect it from Silent, or Yobuddy! (they have already done a lot for us....)
So, if we don't want to loose movement in a spaceship, we have to force FDEV to do something...
    So, let's start email buddies!!!

    Cheers,
    George

Unfortunately @George Dobransky and all Elite Plugin users here, I feel that an API from FD is as unlikely now as it ever was. We've all tried and got silence/no action.

    My thoughts on the matter.
FD have been contacted, on official channels, on more than one occasion by many of us here asking for API. We are such a minority, dabbling in a technology that is new to the 'home' user, that we are just not a high enough priority for FD - especially when they get 1000's posts daily with bug reports, requests, changes (even for existing ED API's) etc.
I even took a full size 3dof motion sim to an Elite Meet back in May, gave Ed Lewis a go in it. Showed it off to Will Flannagan and Paige Harvey, and even Kate Russell (from the BBC) had a go too. They all thought it was ace. I gave the FD guys a run through of what we'd need from them for ED motion and gave them my contact details. Got reassurances that they'd 'speak to the right people' etc - but alas, nothing ever came of it. I've since posted successive updates on my latest 6DOF project on their forum (I always ask for API in my vids) so I'm sure they are still aware of our plight but choose to do nothing (even tell us 'no way' would be constructive).
Sure - it wouldn't do any harm emailing or sending the request form in to FD again but experience suggests that nothing will change and we'll be left hanging about again for something that may never appear. IMHO a risky bet with odds on a no-win from FD.

The solution I believe is within this very forum. A guaranteed win for game-data motion from Elite every time, no matter what FD decide to do with the game direction (payable content, even an eventual 'stand-alone' offline version). I'll be frank here and I think you know what's coming. We have a pretty robust ED plugin and a 'simplified' way of updating the pointers after each ED game update. Bar the occasional hiccup for some (me included) this process works every time, gives us the necessary motion data and we are all happy. A far safer bet, every time, than waiting on FD for an API.

The only difficulty in the pointers process is getting those pointers. I've been using the ED plugins long enough to know that only two or three folks herein know the working process of tracking down the pointers in ED. I've tried it myself with 'CE' (that program) to no avail - there is no process specific guide to follow. Whilst I (and you I'm sure) are very grateful to these chaps for finding the pointers every time and maintaining the plugin, if they decide one day not to do this (or go on holiday, or are too busy) then we are all screwed. This is the only big risk in 'our' current process. But it is a risk the can be mitigated by us and not FD.
Guys, please show us how to replicate your pointer-finding process. If the specific knowledge can be shared so too can the results. The risk is mitigated, the knowledge-base is expanded, and you never know - further breakthroughs may be discovered. Building upon the knowledge of others is surely the way forward - it just doesn't make sense that the only other option is go and learn 'that program' and how to find the pointers by yourself.... we just need a specific guide on what and how exactly its done for ED.

If an ED API does arrive ever - good. But if it doesn't we don't need to care, at least everyone has an opportunity to get game motion themselves or just the offsets that folks post up.

It goes without saying - you can tell me to get stuffed with my request, which would be ok but disheartening. I'm still 100% behind this forum and everything we do. I just want my rig to move the way I built it to and not have to keep hassling the guys every time ED updates.

I'm off for a beer now, thanks for reading if you got this far...

This is the existing ED pointer update guide in the FAQs @kev b: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/updating-elite-dangerous-plugin.295/

Including the pointer steps with visuals that were originally given to @SilentChill: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/lunarflight-plugin-steam-version.8082/#post-99014

What exists may not be exactly what you had in mind, but perhaps indicates the core issue, and that is other members being willing to invest a huge chunk of their spare time to develop the required skills

    Hi Guys,

I have tried CheatEngine, based on the tutorials, but stucked for first time.

Craig, if you will make the plugin again, could you record your process and put on youtube,
that could be the best tutorial for us specialized for ED.? THX!

    Regards,
    George

Likewise here. Works perfectly in all scenarios in main game (in vr).
Haven't checked cqc but all signs are it will work for that too...
    Cheerz Craig - quick work

The movement is improving in each version, now I have a supercruise and hyperspace pull, just missing the movement with the VRS and it will be perfect :grin

Does anyone know why I am getting a delay in the motion returning to centre, after say, a roll.
For example, I roll to the right, then stop the roll, but the rig is delayed in finishing this move.
