    Wagnard,

U R Great, buddy! Back to movements! Big thanx again!!!

Guys, keep mind, it is recommended to save your previous (renamed!) xml with your specified force amounts and dirs,
and just copy them in the new xml's right lines to avoid to set it again!

    Cheers,
    George

    Hi Guys,

Maybe U R interested, here is a short video of my platform works with ED at
60% power to the motors. (for softer movements - better for spaceship and SRV.)

    Cheers,
    George

Nice rig. Is it a diy.

Many thanks to whoever got srv working as well. I experienced driving the srv with motion for the first time the other night and it felt sublime

Hi guys. I've hit a snag.

Watched George's sim vid earlier and realised that while I get motion in my SRV - I'd not been getting the full pitch and roll moves like george's - I just get heave, sway, surge, yaw.
Checked further and I get the correct game data for srv roll and pitch showing on extra1 and extra2 in tuning center and I see the corresponding inputs on the green sliders in game engine for SRV_ro and SRV_pit - all working as expected.

In ED SRV demo mode I put the SRV into a pitch position and applied handbrake. Game engine showing no movement on bottom (blue) axis output sliders. Same for SRV in a roll position.

It then struck me that in game engine, extra1 and extra2 aren't actually assigned at all. I have my axis 1a thru to 6a each sequentially assigned to roll, pitch, heave, yaw, sway and surge.

As a further test I reassigned the roll and pitch terms with extra1 and extra2 in game engine axis assignments and restarted the SRV demo. Now roll and pitch motion works ok in the SRV but lose those moves if I then fly ship (as I expected).

How do I include the extra1 and extra2 'inputs' into game engine axis assignments while still keeping the existing settings which are needed for my ship to roll and pitch?
Seems like I am trying to control 6 axis but with 8 input signals when extra1 and extra2 are also needed.
I include my current (ship) game engine axis assignments. Any pointers showing where to use the extra1 and extra2 values in game engine would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

    Benj85,

Yes, it's a DIY project, but it is my own design, this is the first this kind a cable driven design.

    kev b,

    Your solution is so simlpe:

I'm almost sure you just forgot to change the config in the XML for your 6dof. They are by default assigned to the Extra1-2, you have to modify it.
to change via XML the option to use the SRV with the Roll / Pitch instead of Extra

    Hope helped,
    George
