I built my 2DOF F1 motion sim many moons ago and it has been an absolute joy to use. I've been tweaking it over the years and I'm very happy with it's performance.

The 2DOF came about as a learning tool, with the end goal of building a 6DOF. The 6DOF is still the dream but I wanted to see if I could create a 3DOF by reusing as much of the 2DOF as possible, which I've managed to achieve.

The design is complete in 3D, so now the fun begins....

This is the base setup, in a 120 degree Y orientation for maximum stability

The motors now have levers both sides to distribute weight across the motor, with a 'n' shaped bracket to span the motor

The pot feedback method has been changed from gears to belt drive to allow for the additional lever

So you're 3rd DOF will be heave ? i've also built my 2Dof but since Heave is already well supported by the 2D (event if it's not real heave but pitch ) i would better ad traction loss for my rig upgrade, especially in racing game !

    Cockpit installed.

The bottom part of the frame (previously used for the u-joint) is no longer required, so is reused and repositioned on the sides for the motor mount

The fluid movement and heave are fantastic !!

I can't find it in the "mantis-simulators.co.uk" product category, but I think it will be launched soon.

From the perspective of selling two products, I think the biggest point of comparison between the two products is Heave.

You experienced a heave at 2dof and a heave at 3dof...
After all, the heave in 3dof feels better, right^^?

I would appreciate it if you could tell me what the difference is from a developer's perspective.

For those of you who already have an "F1 League", I was wondering if you would consider selling the lower driveshaft for it??

Hello, congratulations, great job. I wanted to ask you how many kilograms of gasolifts you have? And one more question. How do you get in and out of the seat? If you can take a photo or video? Thanks.

I use 200N on each motor which works well for my 75kg body weight.
    Here's a video demonstrating access

Can you share a link to the gaslifts you are using? And how you calculate that 200N is enough or not to stiff?

Last question: how long are your gas lift? How long is the stroke of the gas lift?
