    What is the problem exactly @trust928?
    What are the symptoms on your computer?

    Are the computer and the simulator power supply plugged in the same wall outlet?

    Try to use a different wall outlet for your computer and the simulator power supply.

    Yeas they are, whats going on with it in the same wall oulet?
    Anyway i fixed the issue by puting opto isolators..
    The firmware is very good..
    Just a bit jerk but i just need to config i think that the bits should tranfers more quick.. i feel a delay some times but maybe just configuration thanks to all

    1/ can you tell us more on the isolators you're using?
    2/ good!
    3/ jerk: just check if it is a mechanical gap?
    delay: are you at arduino top speed in windows and Simtools? you can lower Tolerance parameter

    Sometimes when the motors draw exesive amounts of current from the power supply ... I noticed some spikes on the voltage of the wall outlet (confirmed by my ups tripping on and off because it also detects the voltage difference).

    Hello, I would like to ask about the arduino code:
    #define RV 2 //beware it's depending on your hardware wiring
    #define FW 1 //beware it's depending on your hardware wiring

    What does it mean? Is it the connection between motor and the motorshield or is it something else?
    Thank you

    Hello RacingMat, I would like to ask about your arduino code. Did you use any PID Controller or other Controller in your code? Because I didn't find any controller that controls the feedback of the potentiometer. If there is, could you pointed out which part is it? Thanks in advance.

    it's written in the code...
    Code:
        // PID : calculates speed according to distance
        pwm=195;
        if (gap>50)   pwm=215;
        if (gap>75)   pwm=235;
        if (gap>100)  pwm=255;
    there is only a P (Proportionnal) controller: the speed depends on the gap between real position and order.

    Okay, I get it now. So if I may know what kind of control system did you use? Is it linear control system or on and off control system or something else? Thanks...

    It's not on/off as it's Proportionnal.

    Really nice build and a huge inspiration to my build 'to come' :) how are the motors holding up? fast enough to feel the fine details of movement?

    Thanks! Maybe i found a cheap replacement for the Smolka (NIDEC 404.458) motors. I have them in order right now and i expect them to arrive this week. Then off for a SIM build :D
