Using Mats pic, @treza , do you see what I mean now? Centre of gravity and pivot are two different things. Higher above centre of gravity is ideal, especially if the builder is planning to add screens to it.

And if you have a better idea, then add to this thread. I have been though 11-12 different designs , mostly building them myself. I know what limits are in design.

@treza been through many builds too, motor underneath do not extert the same power as shoulder mounts, built them both, shoulder mounts can handle a greater mass, the higher you move an object above its centre of rotation the easier you can move it, having the motors underneath requires alot more force, the sketch and calc is in correct.

    hello Tech2123!

You're sharing the link of the motors you bought or you're asking for suitability?
Did you get all the other pieces?

OOps, I did order these yesterday! ill have em in 2 weeks. The Sim is all done. I had wiper motors installed But 1 of the wipers were defective, so instead of wipers I just waited for the big gear motor.
I Should be installed and running in 2 weeks or so.

Thanks for sharing your supply link ;)

    Great news!
The first time our DIY sim comes to live and moves, is really much fun and pleasure!

We would enjoy seeing some pics and vid!

    Hello RacingMat
My project 2DOF use your firmware, I have a problem?
Axis1 greater than -90% to -100%, Axis1 motor sport reverse, Axis2 motor stops.
Axis2 greater than -90% to -100%, Axis2 motor sport reverse, Axis1 motor stops.
The phenomenon of a person, who has the same?

    Hello!
    Congrats for your project!

Can you load the presets (in Resources section)? To be sure everything is setup (interface...)

Hi 7, I have had that issue when my pots hit the end stop. There is a quick short and my Arduino reverses itself. I cannot see if you have pots connected to the motors though.

Finally I have setup quickly 2 motors on a Motomonster and I have been able to test by myself (successfully) :)
I have updated the 2 Arduino firmware with the bug correction
(<Axis> send 2 Hex Byte for values from 17 to 255
for values below 16, there was a bug as a single Hex Byte only was sent and incorrectly read.)

    Sorry for inconvenience!

@dualclick If your motors are irreversible then your simulator stays perfectly horizontal when the power supply is cut :)
That's very convenient and mandatory in my opinion

but some people cope with reversible motors

I have these motors and they work very good with no need to cut ground wires. Like Mat says it's very nice to have your sim sit still when not in motion.
