Now that IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad is out of beta it would be nice to see a plugin for this fine sim. A big thanks for the plugins that are available and updated frenquently.

Hope i'm not out of line here but I think more of us should be purchasing download packages, with the amount of time and work these guys put into this software it's well worth it. If we can afford to build motion rigs and buy games at $60 a pop it's not asking much. This is only directed at those that have tried it and use it for their sims.

Nothing stopping anyone from giving a donation to the creators directly as a Thank You.

I did toss up an very early suggestion that we pay a silly fee of a $1 each for our plugins with money going directly to their creators, a little thank you for all their efforts, the more people download them and the more they release , the more thanks they receive for their hard efforts. But I believe it would have created too big of headache and fell on deaf ears.

Do sort of agree with you @frenchfly but want to know the payments are going to the right people.

A difficulty with communities of primarily passionate volunteers and payment is where you draw the line.

For example, SimTools and its plugins would not exist except for some very talented programming individuals. At the same time Xsimulator would not exist without someone like @RaceRay to keep it going. And lastly, the community and hence user base would not exist if it were not for the dedication and info provided by all those who contribute to the forums. All are of value and worth recognising for their contributions. Money is one way, but sometimes money is not always the best option.

Kind of reminds me of a local government situation.
we have a major motor way that had a toll on it. Because of an election promise , the toll was removed after the road was paid for.
Despite suggestions that a 50 cents each way toll be left to dribble in a bit of money.
10 years later, now the new government wants to extend the motor way. and the millions it spent removing the booths will now have to be spent again putting them back
If the toll booths had been left and the small amount trickled in the new toll would not be so expensive.
My point? @frenchfly , Rob made suggestions for a small amount that could have compounded over time.
Instead political bullcrap reigns and people want the big dollars up front.
The coin system pisses a lot of people off.
I will hand out coins if I like.
Its not like my coin amount is gathering interest.

I wasn't trying to ruffle feathers, just encouraging those with the means to support this great software. I would gladly donate my coins as well to whoever needs them to get them going.

I only became a gold supporter after I was able to test the software and was more than satisfied with the results.

Don't let my comment distract the Wizards from the fact I want a plugin for Battle of sturmovik

For what it's worth I actually like the coin system and the 250 limit before you can "buy" plugins is a nice level.
I read so many posts and got so much information, I reached 250 coins in less than a week.

It also gave me enough time to be sure I actually wanted to jump into the world of motion sims.
Too many times in the past I have been quick to jump into a project and spend money without first researching the true cost and needs.

Having the coin system was a good way to "hold me back", until I fully understood what was needed, and at that point I started getting involved.

As for money, I am sure all the GoogleAds impressions are being collected by someone given this forum has around 11,000 active members..
I will donate once I start using Simtools in earnest and I have already said I will donate physical items I have to those forums members who are local to me.
(Case of beer, Power Supply, Spare parts etc..)

It's all about community and I really like being a part of it.

    Thank you,

    Archie.

There is a free 2 play game on Steam called War Thunder, it pretty great with airplanes, it would be a lot of fun with motion too.
It is also good looking, nice graphics. And it's cross-platform game, player on PC, PS4 can play together on same server, pretty awesome.

I think only problem can exist because you can play as airplane and as tank on ground too, but if you guys @value1 and @prilad did the plugin for Battlefield, this could work too.

I downloaded the demo. Unfortunately while it fired up with the Rift OK the game ignored my keyboard for yaw so just keeps doing a flat spin to the left, which is not real pleasant in the Rift.

That could be it, I have plenty plugged in to my machine. Guess the test it will have to wait until the next time I am messing around with controllers.
