Has anybody tested the last version of the plugin with GSC Extreme version 1.21?

I just tried to patch GSC Extreme today @value1 and you were right on the money with the above quote. The plugin works fine but I had to rename GSC2013.exe to GSC.exe in order to apply the patch. Looks like we need a new plugin for Game Stock Car 2013 (later re-branded GSC Extreme but still uses GSC2013.exe).
I have the original GSC as well and even though the graphics are better in GSC Extreme I still like to play it too because it has a slightly different feel to the motion. But as things are now I would have to unpatch and patch in order to use motion with both so a separate plugin would be fantastic! :)

Thanks for that link @insanegr. I swear I tried that last night and it didn’t work but I just tried again and it works fine. I must have done something incorrectly before. In this case the Simtools_GameStockCar.dll needs to be coped to other games plugin folders. You should be able to do this for Copa Petrobras de Marcas too without using its own plugin since it is in essence GSC also (just rename to GSC.exe).

But this isn’t really a multiple install situation because GSC2012 and GSC2013 are stand-alone programs, not just an update. But copying the dll works fine for me and I doubt anyone else will need a GSC2012 plugin since it is not available for download anymore (except cracked versions that is).

@value1, When I test the new plugin I’ll let you know if all is well but I have no doubt it will be. Thanks.

I have been running GSC Extreme fine since I built my motion sim. My executable has always been GSC.exe, even way back when it was still called GSC 2013 before the update to GSC Extreme.

From tomorrow Game Stock Car will be available on Steam, this is the info from Facebook:

    And link to Steam page
    http://store.steampowered.com/app/273840/

As I understood, all users will have the option either to stay with current launcher of the game or convert to Steam. Both versions will be updated regularly and there will be no complications regarding servers or something else between the two.

But I don't know if this will affect the Simtool plugin, should it be necessary to make another plugin for Steam version or not. My guess is not - because it will use the same game .exe file, but it will be necessary to patch the game and point to right Steam folder. I think I will switch to Steam version cause I already have lot of games there and I like it organized, so I could test this plugin with Steam and see if it works.

I upgraded my Formula Trucks to the Steam version last week and it all seems the same.

I will try the Steam version of GSC when it comes out.

They have a link to a website that you can convert your old key to a new steam key

Mmmm, I didn’t download GSC Extreme until well after it was released. But if everyone else has GSC.exe as their executable then I think I had a, “My Bad”! :blush I installed the game last summer (8 months ago), not recently. It is possible I renamed it to GSC2013 myself but forgot. I run some games with the old software I downloaded here and some with simtools. I have a triple air blower and I have gotten accustomed to having wind in my face. Since some of simtools plugins don’t support game dash yet I still use the old software with those titles. Value1 has been doing a great job at getting many of them supported however. Anyway, I have been using the old software with GSC until now and it’s very possible I did rename it because of the way it looks for running programs (sometimes you have to try a lot of different things with that software to get things to work and you forget everything you did or tried!). I prefer simtools motion though; as it is crisper and has a more defined road surface feel to the motion. :thumbs

So if I screwed up I’m very sorry to bother you @value1. I’ll keep my mouth shut from now on unless I have done a fresh install so I'm sure what I’m taking about. :blush:blush:blush:blush:blush:blush

I checked the install date of my GSC install and it was just over a year ago (16/1/2014) This was before the GSC Extreme update and it has always been gsc.exe

    The GSC plugin supports

Is that enough to get your triple air blowers working?

I love this game but I was wondering if it would be possible to get traction lose in the plugin as well. I see that Copa Petrobas de Marcas has it which is a "spin off" from GSC so is ther any way to port this over to GSC ?

I think Marcas is just a modded GSC. You could rename GSC.exe to Marcas.exe for now and then try patching it with the Marcas plugin to see if it works with traction loss.

@Avenga76 Whats the heave Surface detail like in GSC in comparison to say Assetto ? Track mesh's from Reiza and mod content side if you've tried.

It really depends on the track.

They aren't laser scanned so they aren't as detailed as Assetto Corsa but there are some tracks that are really nice.

I find that Mod tracks are usually pretty flat and dull, the mod version of Nords is a good example. In the rFactor/GSCE version the main straight is pretty much flat but it is bumpy as anything in Assetto Corsa.

The official Reiza tracks are usually pretty good.

Here is a video from GSCE, you can see the heave as I go down the straights
