I would like to say a massive thank you to the genius's that created the gt7 plug in and the gt7 proxy software.
    you guys are awesome !!
I can now race with my buddies online using my home made rig that this site helped me build.
sim racing for me will never be the same again.
    thanks again guys

I am also really extremely happy with this plugin, the last weekend was the first time to test my diy rig with it and it is so so great!
    extremely nice work @vthinsel !!!

In order to give some practical feedback to the plugin, here is one thing i realized:

    a) after entering the box during a race, my rig is still receiving a lot of telemetry from the car, which for some tracks with long distances in the box is annoying, as you are not in first-person any longer and thus the movement doesnt feel right (at least to me).
Might there be any chance, to filter such periods and disable the telemetry during those stops?

    b) The same would be useful after passing the finish line, my rig continues to move according to telemetry until I can finally quit the race and get back to GT7 gui, which takes some 20+ seconds where you are just staring at the results table and cannot interact with the car by yourself.

Plz also other racers may give their feedback here, if this would be worth another update of the plugin/proxy or if you resolved this in another way?

    Cheers

I know exactly what you're saying but i am using psvr2 on ps5 and when you enter the box it feels like i'm having my tyres changed which is pretty awesome..

    Thanks for your feedback!
I am also on PSVR2/PS5 and for me it kicks my seat around a lot / too much with my settings.

e.g. on Sardegna A, the road to the box feels like endless and the whole time I am being shaken around as if i were racing on, even when I don't see the car - to me this feels "unnatural", but good to know, that you like it ;)

Thank you very much once again @vthinsel!
I will test the new proxy tomorrow and give feedback asap.

And many thanks also for investigating into possible no-motion features!! :)

    Hi,

Have you had any thoughts as to why the sway is still erratic but the surge is fixed? It may not be related but the yaw slider doesn't move in relation to going round corners. I know it's not used for motion platforms but the slider seems to stick t one end, thanks.

i guess i can finally test the newest updates of simtools and gt7proxy tomorrow, so i can give feedback on saturday, then.

I guess the new option for receiving udp telemetry is the [--receiveport XXXXX] option, correct?

i ran the 1.7.1 yesterday with the --receiveport option and it worked straight away - many many thanks for this!!

I didn't find the new onload flag you implemented yet, will have to get into this next time.

    Hi @vthinsel,

I appreciate this is all on your time but I just wondered if you've had any thoughts on why the surge is fixed but the sway is still erratic? Strangely, the traction loss works very well which you would have thought would be linked to sway.

Thanks again for your work on this.

    Hi @vthinsel

Sorry, my comment before about yaw was a bit stupid, I'd just not set min/max values.

After further investigation I've found sway works very well when you swing the wheel from left to right on a straight but it falls down with sustained sway going round a corner. It swings the opposite way mid corner.

I've also found traction loss swings fully to one side when you stop on track mostly with your foot on the brake. I've been told it happens in the pits as well.

I can't confirm that, sway works very nice in my 2DoF setup, swinging the wheel from left to right gives an awesome feeling for the mass of the car, also in corners it is working as expected for me.

In the pits i still have lots of movements I would like to avoid completely, it feels like they're coming from pitch, but I never recorded to observe the sliders tbh.

I think I've found the issue, with our seat mover, the motion is quite small so the min/max value is set to less than 0.5/-0.5 because the sway force output is very low from the game. This means the noise is exaggerated and so the massive swings.

Hi vthinsel, it is so great to play GT7 on PSVR2 with motion. Is it possible to activate fan speed support also, like in F1 2022 game plugin. That would be so nice.

If I have a demo version of Sim tools 3, then I can't add Plugin GT7? Or I'm doing something wrong!!!

If I have a demo version of Sim tools 2, then I can't add Plugin GT7 either? Or I'm doing something wrong!!! Plugin will only work on the activated version, right?

what does it mean "Just select a "dummy" patch and you're done!", Where to get a Patch for Simtools 2 or it doesn't exist. Nothing works for me on Sim tools 3, even LFS does not give feedback. Help!!!!

The LFS plugin is fully functional in the demo version of SimTools, for testing purposes, but LFS has to be run before being patched for motion and SimTools should be properly configured and working as expect in Output Testing before using any plugin: https://xsimulator.net/community/faq/live-for-speed-run-in-first-person-mode-before-patching.365/

All other plugins require an activated licensed version of SimTools.

Hey guys, I have a severe issue - but it is not even related to simtools, it is because i just cannot work together with microsoft windows (i hate this system so damn much..) - could someone please tell me what I have to do here?

-> gt7proxy just ran perfectly for months now, until now - I keep getting "INTERNAL ERROR: cannot create temporary directory!"

I have no idea at all what might have changed as I did not change anything at all....
I just realised that now - out of a sudden - that f**** windows defender jumps in once again when i want to execute the plugin - so i believe that the beloved defender changed its behaviour somehow..

I managed to turn it off completely but it still didnt solve my issue.
Please, tell me what do i have to study in order to understand that system?
I am losing my nerves with this and i just wanted to play with my motion rig :/

running 1.7.1 but other versions have the same issue right now, so it is not related to the plugin itself-

    Thank you kindly :)
    Best regards,
    David
