Final Sim design, based on @Archie 's foot mount :cheers
Pedals and wheel can be moved to different configurations, all made in 45x45 steel.

I hope it will be ready in a week, I will test test it a pair of weeks and then send it to powder paint for a good and lasting finish.
Still thinking about changing the seat...

Congrats @mariano68 - If you get thrown around in your sim as much as I do I would recommend getting a chair with fabric and/or padding.
You will slide around in that strap chair which will take away from your experience and likely get annoying very quickly.

Even a cheap car seat or something like that.

Looking good though, can't wait to see it moving. :thumbs

    Thanks @Archie !
I will be using 60mm ctc levers, because the foot mount is about 1mt away and about 30cm higher from the COG, so easier to move, but also I think it will cut some moving.

    What do you think guys:

The fixed car seat will be lighter and likely will not cushion finer vibrations. But choosing the seat that you are going to be most comfortable in should be a main criteria, as you will be having so much fun you will be spending hours on end in it on a regular basis ;)

@mariano68 , 60mm CTC seems a little long, but what gearboxes you using? And what control boards (I probably missed it)
    What weight are you?
with that seat, you could get some plywood and build a bit of a frame to go into it, them pad it and toss a seat cover . Piece of cake
maybe build something like this inside the existing seat frame.

That Sparco looks super comfortably, but one like that here, costs more than all I'd spent on the sim, and the cheap ones aren't that comfortable, I'm still deciding...

I'm 110kg, I hope I can get back to my lean 90kg soon;)
Good idea, but the costs of the ones I pointed are fine, so I preffer to buy it ready to use this time.
I'm using 150watts 2Ton modded electric jacks, they use 50:1 gear and arduino+MM

    Well... back
I made a new metal base for the sim in 40mm x 1,6mm thick square steel tube, as the MDF was bending a lot, so now feels strong and looks a million times better.
Downside is that I was almost finishing getting all together, and inverted 12v power... Arduino UNO is dead, also one usb 3.0 dead and the onboard sound also killed . Don't know if the motomonster is also dead...
Now I'm waiting delivery of a new Arduino and also another motomonster, as even if it is not dead, I want to use one for each motor with his own 32amp psu.

Sad news @mariano68, that is a frustrating whoopsie with major consequences.

Perhaps on the positive side you could post some pictures of the new frame.

If you connected the MM not correctly to the PSU the MM will be likely dead as well. Sorry to hear that, but this fault seems to be often...

Thanks, I have a new motomonster and Arduino uno r3 here now :). Just changed the Arduino, I will try now with the motomonster conected to see what happens.
I will take a pic and post it.

Well, at least I already have the replacement here, only prob is I don't have soldering skills, so, if the motomonster is dead, i will have to wait a pair of days to get the new one ready :(

Ok, tested the Ard+motomonster with smc3 util and tester, looks like the motomonster is fine, now it's time to put all together...

Finished connecting for the first time...IT WORKS!!! :cheers:cheers:cheers
Just got a ride in No limits 2, works fine at only 60% of the axis, motors at 200 and with only one motomonster for both, feels powerful and silent enough.
The levers are 45mm CTC, tomorrow I will try more power and more % axis, it's 12 am and my wife and kids are sleeping... so no more testing for today.
The electric jacks are a cheap and better alternative than the wipers, I will take better and detailed pics of them.
For sure it needs a lot of tuning and I will ask for help for sure, but i works, it's a nice feeling :thumbs
I'm really happy! thanks to all of you guys that are always helping and encouraging!

There is nothing like the exhilaration and relief when you get it working for the first time!

Now comes the motion profile refinement and that can soak up more time than you expect but is really worth the effort of getting it dialed in for the various games you use.

Today at 7:30AM I was getting ready to drive my daughters to school, my wife shouted at me "the car is getting crashed!!!"
An ass... sending msgs while driving smashed my car while parked in front of my house... if that happened 5 minutes later, me, my wife and kids would be there to go to school...f.u.c.k.!
    12165061_752341314893491_1684299387_o.jpg 12169104_752341348226821_1199479217_o.jpg
In the pic, at the center, the sucker and his parents...

Anyway, we are all fine, the car will be fixed by the insurance (I hope)

Well, that's why it is important to always have a hobby to get our minds free.

Bugger, I had a slight bingle as well recently, I made the mistake of driving through an intersection on a GREEN light and I got t-boned , good thing it was just me driving and no passengers or kids in the car
red car.jpg , I got paid out a sum of money for it and got the car back, so it can be used as donor parts towards at least 3 more simulator builds planned. Like the tailshaft with 2 uni joints in it, the steering knuckles, thats another 2. The wiper motors, the driver and passenger seats...

Ok, first run in Assetto Corsa with the rift and the sim... unbelievable!!! Really worth the effort it took! Will be awesome once I tune it correctly and add heave, as only tried surge and sway.
Again, the Electric jacks did a great job, at 170 pwmmax and just 32amps for both. Just because I have another psu and MM, I will add them to use one for each jack.
Tomorrow I will take pictures of the jacks etc and make a new thread, they are a great and cheap alternative for people that doesn't have access to good and powerful motors.
