@richdelta9 Hi mate. Thanks for that info. My rig has a surge axis (motor) and yaw/traction loss axis (motor) separate from the front two motors (pitch, roll, heave etc). When using the rudder in IL-2 BOS my rig surged fore and aft on the surge motor. When I accelerated or on decel (diving, climbing etc) my yaw would move left and right.

    Definitely something not right there.

EDIT: I actually read through this thread again and a guy called HEXpod also found this issue. It was going to be fixed by Value1, but I guess that never happened. Until the plugin gets amended, you can just fix this issue by swapping the surge to sway and sway to surge in the axis assignments if you have supporting motors/axis.

And no, haven't tried a tank yet. I've got IL-2 BOS running at the moment. I might go and jump in a tank and see what happens.

What version of SimTools are you using? yobuddy and I created an IL-2 Sturmovik plugin that works with Battle of Stalingrad for SimTools v3 and that is the one I am referring to.

This is the thread for the V2 plugin, so I presume that is what is being used.

@richdelta9 hey mate. I use sim tools 2.6. I have been thinking about changing over to V3. Yes, I saw Yobuddy had a plugin for Sturmovik BOS. One of the reasons I was thinking about making the change. In saying that, I'm happy with Value1's BOS plugin. As long as you swap the surge and sway axis, all works as it should for my rig.

@richdelta9 anything I need to be aware of before shifting over to sim tools V3? I'm pretty keen to give it a go.

The shift to v3 is a free upgrade for v2 users, v3 is nearing the end of open Beta testing, a manual is nearing finalisation but is not yet released, the interface is integrated and there are performance gains, the plugin repository is integrated but not all plugins are available just yet, you can run v2 and v3 on the same machine.

Thanks @noorbeast. I'm just waiting on an ethernet cable to arrive so I can run it out to my shed where the sim lives. Then I'm going to upgrade to V3. Thanks for the breakdown.

Has anybody had problems with motion since the March IL2 update? it has worked perfectly for years - actually the best motion of any flight sim for me - but now nothing. No signals sent to tuning centre either. Motion in every other sim works fine - x-plane dcs fs2020!

    Hi

I haven't flown BoS for ages, but have kept installing the updates, so is current. I just fired it up and my motions all seem OK. My version of Simtools is quite a few years old and is V 0.2.5.1

As it works fine and does everything I want I have not updated Simtools, as it seems to me if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Sorry you are having grief.

Yes, I haven't played IL2 for a long time, but I too have no motion now?

I tried adding the lines to the startup file, found in one of the first pages, but that does not work.

Just tried it with the old Simtools 2.0.05 - that works just fine? Maybe something about the patch?

I ended up re checking steam files integrity, then un patching and re patching the plugin, and it finally started working again. That last il2 update messed a few things about - including reverb g2 VR operation. Sometimes I wish they would leave well alone and not keep updating!
