First off...this plugin is fantastic for games which don't officially support motion.

Kudos to value1 for developing it! :thumbs

With one small caveat, which may just be something I'm missing on how to properly use it.

I'm re-posting this here (originally from the thread requesting support for the game Vector 36) in hopes of catching the ear of the plugin author and see if there is any sort of a solution, or steer me in the correct usage of it. :sos

It appears that the game requires to be in focus for any controller to work with it, as does the joystick plugin for the motion platform to work.

I can only choose one or the other at any given time. :(

Several games do indeed allow for the game to be run in the background (such as Worlds At War & Wreckfest, etc.) while the joystick plugin is controlling the platform, so I assume that the fault is on the game side and not the plugin side when it doesn't work.

Unless of course I'm doing something wrong with my usage of the plugin.

The only way I can get it to work is if I leave the plugin as the last app in focus by clicking on the header bar, then just leaving it alone after that and not closing the joystick selection window.

Whenever I allow something else to have focus the platform stops moving.

I'm not sure if this is the way it's supposed to be, or if I'm doing something wrong. :think

If in fact I am missing something, then I think that the joystick plugin would work with almost any game.

I know that with my old Next Level Racing V3 motion platform that their similarly functional DirectInput controller app did still work while it wasn't in focus.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Cheers! :cheers

The plugin uses the Microsoft Direct3D Joystick API.
Give it a try and let us know, please.

Are we supposed to keep the selection screen active once a joystick is chosen, or do we need to hit the "close" button afterwards?

I can't seem to get it to work in game unless the plugin is the active window, which obviously doesn't work with a lot of games.

Please see my other post, which is 4 above this one, for further details.

    Any help would be appreciated.

It works with any x-input device on Windows.

I've used it with an XBox One gamepad, a HOTAS, a flight-stick, and my wheel/pedals/shifter setup.

Each one will need tweaking in your Windows controller settings, as well as defining their axis movements in SimTools.

It's worth taking the time to setup, and once you're done it adds a whole new dimension to games without official motion plugins.

As far as I know there's no official support instructions or manual, just keep tweaking until things move in the correct directions and feel right.

Nope, this was missing from the instructions :thumbs
    Now it works.

BTW the instructions say "Run GameEngine & GameEngine" I think it should be "Run GameEngine & GameManager" ;)

@value1 Thanks for this amazing plugin. Is there any chance of making the recorder export the telemetry in a format compatible with the Video Ride Creator?
