All of the scn actuators should have the default ID of zero.

I had an opportunity to play on some bernard units today
    kartsim.jpg
Simx , SCN5, fanatec wheel , pedals and shifter. Rfactor v8s on Melbourne track. I paid my $15 for 10 mins.
Now being a "hire" unit, I expected less than normal motion.
Overall, yes there is a delay in motion with simcommander compared to simtools.
As for my first actual ride on SCN5 actuators, I can confidently say that DC motors and JRKS match if not better the performance of SCN actuators and are considerably less cost.
I thought it had a bass shaker, but they just bolted the sub box to the frame and turned up the bass which worked well in fooling me to think there was a bass shaker.
The fanatec wheel looked pretty, but I suspect it had basic feedback set, so it felt like a G27. Pedals I was not impressed with probably from the poor mounting position they were in. Otherwise, they felt like G27 pedals.
The shifter clubsport SQ is very good though. $229 AU price.

Considering I have my own DIY sequential shifter, the sequential setting on this was excellent. Firm and just the right amount of throw.
A good shifter for the price for sure. But I will stick to mine.
Thats my review on simx units. I suggested to the owner about simtools, I directed him to the site and told him to register.
He told me of the nightmare setting up simcommander. I said your setup would need an adaptor plug for the wiring and there is help on site to get simtools going. That and it supports more games than Bernards.
    Cheers, David.
