Copy the xsimplugin.dll file located in Program Files\X-sim\other stuff\rfactor to the rfactor\plugins directory and make sure that plugins are enabled in rfactor. You also need to select the rfactor plugin in the force sender.

Great stuff NeO. Are you still testing or have you completed your project?

I´m testing with a small design. Now just finished the structure and chair. I´ll buy the wiper motors (there is any special specification) or just buy the most cheaper?

Another help, I´m using 100k Potenciometers, is that right? or I need to use anotherone.?
And... the Potenciometer is Multiturn? or just a simple Potenciometers?

    Thanks

Hi Neo, I really can't answer those questions for you since I have not yet started on my wiper motor project.

Here is a video using the new version 2.1.04 and Nima's GTRE BMW V8 profile. This profile is pretty extreme and is a good example of why you need to have good actuator geometry. If not you will have to drastically tame the profile down with the percent limiter or risk serious damage to your actuators.

I'm really liking the feel of the 2.1.04 profiles so far. You can feel the difference in resolution when using the SCN5's.

Thanks Nima for a very nice pofile. :)

Thanks Fahim. The pedals have a much more natural feel to them now. I also have the Nixim brake mod and Leo USB adapter on the way which I am sure will make the pedals even more accurate, especially during braking.

It's a USB adapter the you plug the pedals into and it increases the resolution of the pedals. I have not tried it yet but I have spoken to others that have and have also read a lot of good reviews about it.

I've made quite a few changes to my sim over the past few months and have also been doing a lot of work on profile creation with the help of Nima.

I've recently added a Sparco Rev seat and 3, 47 120HZ LCD screens which replaced the 720p projector that I was running with a 120 screen. The difference in field of view is stunning and I'm extremely pleased with the result. I decided to try the ATI 5870 video card and their Eyefinity software and so far it's working out pretty good. There are a few bugs that they need to iron out with Display port to DVI or VGA adapter compatibility which results in an intermittent and very brief loss of sync on the display hooked up to that adapter but I'm certain that they will work it out with future driver updates.

I'm currently running 5760 x 1080 at 60HZ and my lowest frame rate is about 70fps going as high as 300fps depending on the track.

Yeah, Mike - that's weird stuff and a great work  !

You're still driving rFactor mostly ?

In the meantime I have dampened my actuator arms (base-side) and it feels much better. I have seen in your video that you have this rubber on the upper side of the SCN5 - could you give me some more specs and details on this ? Looks like a part from a Skateboard or an elastomer from a suspension fork, isn't it ? Could you also tell me if you have a dampening kit on the lower side (down on the rig/base) as well ? Seems to be smooth...

In GTR Evo and Dirt2 I have short freezes every now and then and so I'll upgrade to an ATI 5850/5870 this summer. Maybe I'll also give three Displays a try - what do you think about the frames of the displays in the middle ? Does it affect your concentration during the race ?

Thanks for your replies - and again GREAT WORK, M8  !

    Bye, Chris

    Saying Hi from Niagara Falls!

Great work, I really love that setup! Do you notice the squeaky noise of the actuators when you play?

    Thanks Chris,

I've been following your work as well and think that you've done an awesome job as well.

I'm playing both rfactor and iRacing these days but I think iRacing has better physics and it also has better support for multiple screens (bezel size, monitor angle, etc..).

Here are some pics of the dampeners that I'm using at the base of my actuators as well as the rubber stoppers that I have at the top. The ones at the top were just basic rubber feet that I purchased at the hardware store and I will be removing them in the near future. I installed the ones at the top when I started building profiles without the 25% limiter so that I had a bit of a safety net but I no longer need them because of the way my profiles are built. I have optimized my actuator position and also the profile so that it can handle my weight at extreme angles. I also have a different profile that I will use if someone heavier is riding the simulator so that they can still get maximum g forces without damaging the actuators.

I love the sense of immersion that you get with the 3 screens and the bezels don't seems to bother me at all. I usually adjust the FOV so that the side view mirrors are not cut off.

    Hi Frakk,

You can hear the actuators when you play but if the sound it up high enough, it drowns them out quite nicely :).

Mike, stop spending so much on the sim :). Just messing. I want to get round to three screens one day. Does it make much difference in the driving experiance. I use single 40inch hdtv.

    Many Thanks.

    Hi Fahim,

What else is there to life besides simming ;)

The 3 screens make a HUGE difference for me. I went from using a 120 screen with a projector and I don't plan on going back. I also tried Track IR with the projector but it does not give the same field of view experience.
