    Found this on his forum

E69 Motion 2DOF v1.30. We closed our link to E69 Motion 2DOF software. It will be open only to free donators.. It’s a free software, but we didn’t received many donations and it’s not easy to keep on a good software. But, don’t worry, it’s not the end ;) . It will receive new updates.

    Hi.

It's possible I explained too bad, but it not easy to work on it with only 70€/year... I don't want to be rich with this software, but free donations (from 1€ to xxxx) will help us to get a software with all simulator supported. I hope you can understand.

    Thanks.

Another software provider offered the same thing free with donations. And then made the software that nasty and online connections a problem that people were forced to donate.
I agree with donations from kindness, not being forced.

I don't know this software provider and I don't like this method to obtain cash...

I take this decision because, after 1300 downloads in 8 months, I only received 70€ as free donations. OK, I am not going to complain and, as I said, I don't want to be rich with this software. But the intention to be free is: if all people works together, we can get professional devices with little money...

Anyway, I'm thinking about this and, I could be nice idea have two versions: free version and donation version. The donation version has more features, what do you think??

    Thanks for your comments

Good old gold coin donation as a thanks to the developer.

We all know why sir made his software cost, because he got greedy. But your comment above suggests that the 1300 people who downloaded it was not satisfied and have moved on. Shame I know first hand, it does very well.

Just a silly suggestion mate, you don't really want to get rich, make a silly price tag for it $2.
Well at 1300 downloads that's $2600, mmm That's making money, beware we cant do that here in Australia, would have to add 20c on to it for taxes gov would want to collect.
If I had to pay for software I would like to know Im buying from a business with warrenty and support, which I here you do look after your followers well.

Make it a small $ mate.

I'm not greedy and the software runs very well without connection problems or something similar. I like your idea.

    Thanks for the suggestion ;)

    Hey guys,

I get it. Unfortunately most people are promising that they will support the developer in any case, but when a donation button comes they do not pay any little cent. Thats a phenomenon of thoughts that digital goods should be free at all. It needs a lot of knowledge and free time to make great software. People often forget it. Best example: Look at the android or iphone app stores, user complains when a software costs 3$ or less. When i see such comments by some people i think f*ck you.

As i know that your software is a great experience for everyone i suggest to get rid of the donation button (as bft mentioned, donation should never be forced) and if you don´t want to get rich (dont you?:) ) make a fair price in the lower range you ´ve calculated well.

3$ iss too little. 300 is too much. I think something in a price range between 10 and 20 EUR could be fine. If you don't want to annoy some of your helping people you could also offer a completely free basic version and extend it with plugins that costs little money. So you ll get a community around your software product and the more people are using your software the more plugins you will sell. As long as the prices are little and affordable for a personal use, no one will complain about it. But never forget to communicate the process with your helping friends.

And please never use any thing of forced internet connection on our motion simulators..we hate it :D

One further thought from my experience as a (WordPress) plugin developer:
It also should not forgotten when you offer paid software that you are committed to give support for it. People expect than support every night and day. Days where you can enjoy the day lying in the sun and make Siesta ... forget it:)

if you need more tips write me a pm.

Guys i love this community... what a nice, decent, civil and friendly way to talk about money issues. :D

Man, about your development, and the price..

i saw in ubunto (i guess) that when you are going to download the software, they ask you for a little donation, but you decide where to put the donation

    * 1 usdlls to improbe visuals
    * 2 to improbe x pluggint

maybe that could help, and in that way people will tell you what they need.

we pay a lot more in taxes and other weird applied fees when it comes to buying in from overseas. Even the exchange rate can really bite us, even with euros.
    10-20 euros is $14 to $28 AU.
We pay on average 31% income tax taken straight from pay and even more when we do overtime as employees. Costs even for electronics and services can cost 50-100% more in Australia that compared to anywhere overseas, that includes internet and speeds related, as eightbit pointed out.
I could go on, but I would wear out the keyboard.

I use his program and I must say it works flawlessly with standard settings and SCN5 actuators and a lot of games, you'll have a great experience with it.
And the settings are completely adjustable.
After Sir emptied my walled with € 60,- to use his software, (due to a picture of dustcovers from simxperience) this software is great and very very easy to use and you'll get it with a little forced donation. I'm waiting for the update to use gauges to make it complete.

So till something better (Simtools) arrive's this is the way to go for me.

    Thumbs up for this software

its good to see alternative software out there as well as the "other" software. And if it doesnt cost as much, thats a plus.
Logykal have done a good job and should be commended.
Simtools is being perfected as much as they can before public beta release. Best of all , its free.
The fellas here have made lives on sim users a heck of a lot easier, especially us with motors and control boards that are not SCN.
    Cheers to all.
