    Roll and pitch are the primary axis in a flight sim, but surge and heave in particular also have their place is a flight profile. So you should feel surge when you say open the throttle, for example on a jet, and heave should be evident in flight, say for turbulence, and also when the wheels hit when touching down.

    As usual when creating and refining a motion profile do each axis/force one at a time and then combine when satisfied.

    Smoothing and washout filters can help with what happens at an inversion point in roll and pitch. But in many flight plugins we have Extra 1 and 2, which can be used in place of pitch and roll, and essentially what they do is hold the attitude rather than invert at 180.

    I just received and set up my H3. I’ve been researching and testing but can’t quite get the feel right for iracing. When using dirt rally, the movements are as expected. With iracing everything seems subdued. No matter what I do, I can’t get any movement due to acceleration and breaking. I get lots of movement when I wreck, and when on pit road, ect. But I’m looking for that in the seat feel when I step on the gas. Can anyone share their iracing settings, or point me in the right direction?

    for every game other than dirt rally, assetto corsa, and project cars 2, there are no presets by DOFreality. So what i do is try to configure the roll, yaw, etc all individually. For example, first put roll at 50% in DOF 1 for axis 1 and axis 2. Then try different DIF each time and see when the roll becomes perfect. Try to get in a race track that has a tilted road so you feel the roll. When you get the movement of roll perfectly, disable roll then move on to pitch and so on until you get them all correct

    pitch=movement up and down
    roll=when car tilts sideways
    extra 1 in DOF 1 axis 3 = traction loss
    surge=when you change gears/brake/accelerate
    heave=(i think road bumps)
    sway=movement you feel when car moves left of right

    someone correct me if i'm wrong

    so i just tried dirt 3 with the presets given by dofreality...
    i used the simtools plugins, and i first put it in the game's directory. It was not moving at all, so i saw a thread here saying i have to put it in my documents->my games->dirt 3

    i did and it is now moving, but it is SOOO messed up. I put the preset for dofreality dirt 3 profile (this worked perfectly when i added the presets from dofreality to assetto,PC2, and dirt rally) but for this not at all. i swear i thought i broke my motion sim because of how messed up and random ALL the movements were. The traction loss motor was swinging left to right and i was going up and down and swaying EVERYWHERE as soon as i entered the racing track.

    what could be causing this? i also tried my own settings and it would barely move...

    Did you change MIN/MAX settings in Tuning center?

    Please change settings like on screen below. You can find this settings in GameEngine - > Tools -> Tuning Center.

    Press Capture Max Min, insert new value and press Save New Settings.

    oh my godddd thank youuuuu it's working now. How did you get the values? so i can do this for other games too. And do i NEED to do it with games that already work without me messing with these values like assetto corsa and PC2? like..will they make the motion even better than what it already is?

    ahaa thanks! Alright so i read everything. But, from experience, has doing the "capture live in game values" and using those settings instead of the base settings that come with the plugin been better or worse for you? Have they made it feel better than just using the base tuning centre settings?

    I just got my tracking info for H3 kit, I'm excited!

    I'll be starting with my Logitech driving force wheel set. I need some suggestions on a good racing seat to use with this.

    I'm planning a second station, so a good deal on a pair of seats would be ideal.

    Any good reviews for a lightweight seat?

    Don't worry about weight, that's not the issue. Its all about balance.

    Dofreality talk about balance and that is essential to a good working rig.

    I really can't emphasise this enough.

    Balance is really important for any rig, but equally so too is mass and related inertia. The more mass the greater the inertia and the more power it takes to control it.

    Exactly - and with the non-pro version I probably don't want to "spend" my mass allowance on a 40kg reclining seat, right?

    Any recommendations on a good seat (or pair of seats) I can order from Amazon?
