    Hi everyone David here,

I'm new to sim racing and am looking into a motion rig. P2 or P3. I have read through most of this forum and the help from everyone is fantastic. I have a couple of questions that i would like help with as i'm so new to this.

    1st - What would you advise me on a 2DOF or 3DOF.

2nd - I'm brutal at fixing/drilling things etc (ie - motors & new holes for stuff that wont fit etc) so does the rig require alot of maintenance?

3rd. I am going to be using a Fanatec CSW v2.5 base, & maybe the V3 pedals or Heusinkveld Pro pedals (Also heard the rig may be a bit weak with pro pedals???). Will they attach to the rig ?

4th - Can you dial down the sim motion so that its not over the top and more subtle.

5th - I see alot of people talking about seats and them not fitting correctly that they need to be on rails etc what does that mean.. Which seats fit well with it that i can attach properly and when the seat is attached can i move it forward and backwards like a real car seat or is it locked. (say a smaller friend came over to use it).

6th - I live in Ireland and would love my shifter on the left hand side get int the seat from the right is this possible??

And Finally lol does this require a triple screen setup as i have 3 MSI screens ordered.

Many thanks and really excited about my new venture.

1- Depends on your sims, budget and goals you need 3dof for drifting and rear traction loss
    2-none
    3-yes
4- yes , Simtools have tons of settings and presets.
    5-Seat mounts are 280мм deep(front to back)
    and (345,375,405)mm wide
    6- yes, sure
7- no it does not. you can use any way to display you want.
one thing to keep in mind that platform is not designed to move monitors, so you can keep them static or it is always better and even cheaper to use VR instead of monitors or to have static mounted big monitor, TV or projector.
Platform is balanced for optimal performance and won't move even light monitor at longer arm to COG. We can't overload it with unbalanced weight.
For the above reasons we don't provide and sell monitor stands, as we can't be responsible of result.

    pls read https://dofreality.com/faq/

Thank you so much for your quick reply.

So on point 5. Can you recommend a seat that you know on the market that fits this perfectly and one that i can slide forward and backward at will.

And if something fails or is not working correctly what is your policy & guarantee.

Also i live in Ireland am i expecting a massive customs tax on top of the pricing??

    Thanks

Most people getting seats off the Amazon and eBay and listings depand on the country and keep changing, and they vary a lot in budget, so i can't refer the exact seller.
pls use the mentioned measurements to pick up one of your preferences and budget with sliders.
We ship from Ukraine with TNT. Our prices don't include VAT/customs duty.
Usually it is standard import tax % for your country.
for the VAT pls email us the sales@dofreality.com we can mention you the details

Sliding back and forth doesn't depend on the seat, it depends on the bracket under the seat (this bracket may or may not come with the seat). I bought a seat which was SUPPOSED to have the bracket included, but it didn't. So i ordered one, and that didn't fit lol..So didn't use it. Which means i can't move the seat back and forth unfortunately.

Also, why order those 3 screens when you have a vr headset....? The immersion that vr gives you>>>>any higher res screen. Best if you cancel the order if you can

Can i ask one other question if some would kindly help.

I purchased 3 x MSI Optix MAG27C monitors for my rig and i have an Nvidia Palit GeForce® GTX 1080 JetStream GPU and only discovered that that it only supports G Sync and the monitors are Free Sync. Will my monitors be able to run smoohtly at high settings with out screen tearing etc or should i cancel my order. I don't really have the cash for G Sync monitors aswell as the build.

    Thanks again everyone.

Hi Danny, yes the wheels appear to be nylon. Weird, since the unit was only purchased in June and DOFReality has known about the traction loss wheels issue for at least a few months prior. They did throw some additional wheels in with the kit but they appear to be the same material.

Upgraded sim to P3dV4.4 from P3DV4.3, now SimTools GameManager does not recognize P3d. When I start the Game Manager it indicates it is in Demo mode. It has been working fine up to the upgrade today. I checked the DOFReality Simtools registration and SimTools indicated it had been previously activated and had no additional activations.

    Any others having this issue?

I didn't find it difficult to setup. Centering the chair is about weight distribution. There are three sets of holes in the chair mount, so, one can move the chair left or right an inch or so by using the different holes. For my installation I mounted my chair in the center holes and added small weights to the sides of the platform frame until I achieved balance.

A small amount of free play is normal on worm gearboxes. A slight positive pre loaded weight bias when balancing the rig will help minimise the free play effects.

OK, I will try, is it better to add weight to the back or front, or it doesn't matter ?

    OK, thx.

Tell me, it is true, that for Dofreality platforms the best Axis Type at simtools is Generic 2D Basic ?

At my simtools I haven't any other Axis type, I have to choose only one type, and it is Generic 2D Basic. But at many of pictures at this forum I see other, like standard etc.

I would like to update my Simtools 2.25 to newest version, but I don't know how to transfer all settings, from actual version to new simtools.

The registration key that I use in the current version will match the new one?
